Readers Respond: What is your favourite memory of your parents?
Growing up we were constantly scolded for not spending enough time with our parents.
That still stands true today with most, if not all of us, having our heads stuck in our electronic devices not paying attention to anyone.
Admittedly, it’s sad. Before you know it, your loved ones have grown old or have gone.

Mary Perrott - Sitting by the fire and mum telling us stories of when she was a little girl growing up in Poland.
Beverley Asmus - Watching my parents gazing into each other’s eyes while dancing. I was 13 and it was apparent how my father adored my mother.
Evelyn Hampton - I remember my dad sitting on the floor in front of the open fire while mum shelled peanuts and popped them into dad's mouth, they loved their peanuts. When I was in my late twenties I was out with my parents and as dad wasn't much of a dancer mum was dancing with one of her brothers-in-law, dad came over to me and put his arm around me and said "Just look at your mum, isn't she lovely.”
Bethne Crisafulli - Every moment they were together. Their love was tangible. It gave me a pattern for my own beautiful marriage. They were much older than I when they met and were blessed to have had ten more years together than I did.
Anne Butler - Playing checkers with my dad on the front porch. Me performing amazing acrobatics on the front lawn and him cheering and marveling at my skill!. Love my Dad.
Sharon Crager - Mum and the many batches of Christmas fudge I helped her make every year. She made it for everyone, except me. I could make mine because she had taught me. She had just watched me. Dad kept all my cards and notes I had given him all my life in a drawer. I found them after he passed. That was special.
Judy Stokes - My dad and I going to Rosehill races together or greyhound racing. Mum didn’t like it so I went and just loved being with him. Dad died Valentine’s Day in 2000. I miss him so much.
