Tennis legend Rafael Nadal marries partner of 14 years Xisca Perello
Photos are slowly beginning to emerge of tennis legend Rafael Nadal’s wedding to his partner of 14 years Xisca Perello.
The wedding took place at Sa Fortlesa, Pollenca in Spain and was attended by 350 people.
Relatives and friends of the couple attended the event, as well as tennis plays such as David Ferrer and Albert Costa. The former king of Spain Juan Carlos and his wife attended the wedding as well.
The outfits worn by the happy couple were designed by Barcelona native Rosa Clara, who said that she was “incredibly proud” in an Instagram post.
“An overwhelming wedding day for all of us! We feel incredibly proud for taking part in such an important day - Mery Perelló and Rafa Nadal's wedding. We would like to congratulate the gorgeous and unique couple, we wish you the best forever!”
Nadal was surprisingly tight-lipped about the wedding and was asked by ESPN if he was involved in the preparations.
"Not much", admitted the world No. 2. "I have been advised for the important things, but I have enough work to do here. Hopefully it will be a nice day enjoying with the people.”
He also said that he was annoyed at the media who twists his words as they “share things that are not true”.
“What happens is that you speak a lot about all those things. I read that I was very angry, and I was not. We try to keep those things private. If something gets published, it's okay. Everything becomes a circus; we are used to the social media and that media share things that are not true."
