Woman smuggles grandma’s dog into hospital to keep her company
If you’ve ever been in hospital before, you’ll know it can be quite a lonely place. So, you can’t blame one grandma, Dona, for wanting to brighten her stay with a visit from her pup, Patsy. The only problem? Dogs aren’t allowed in the hospital.
Enter her 21-year-old granddaughter (and veterinary technician) Shelby Hennick. Desperate to make her grandma’s wish come true, she came up with an ingenious plan to smuggle Patsy in to see her sick owner – by disguising the pooch as a cosy, wrapped-up baby.
“My grandma is in the hospital right now and wanted to see her dog,” Shelby captioned the photo on Twitter. “So I made it look like I was carrying a baby and we made it.”
The sweet story has been retweeted a staggering 130,000 times and received well over half a million likes. And Patsy’s healing powers seem to have worked – we’re happy to inform you that Dona is doing much better and has returned home to her doting doggy.
