Karl Stefanovic reunites with Peter Stefanovic for special cause
Karl and Peter Stefanovic have stepped out to support a good cause as they attended a charity cricket game at the Prime Minister’s house on Thursday.
The Channel Nine television presenters were grinning ear to ear as they posed for a photo together, wearing Nova 96.9 branded hats.
The game is in its second year and aims to raise money for cricket charity Batting for Change that aims to create transformative educational opportunities for disadvantaged men and women in cricket playing countries.
The event was hosted by Nova presenters Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and had an appearance by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
“We play cricket with countries all around the world who are less fortunate,” said PM Morrison to Nova 96.9 about last year’s match.
“Sport is a great way for people to get involved. This charity helps women in countries like Sri Lanka for example, it is tremendous.
“Watch out for Buddy the dog as he will be looking forward to it, you just have to be careful he doesn’t take the ball as you won’t get it back. He’ll be in the slips.”
The event attracted other Australian media personalities, such as TV presenters Mark Ferguson and Peter Overton. The NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian also showed off her cricket skills at the event.
The Prime Minister was spotted wearing some colourful shorts for the event, and Team Wippa was victorious on the day, much to the joy of the Prime Minister’s dog Buddy.
“I’m glad we won off Ben Fordham getting out … and I thought the player of the match was Buddy,” he said to news.com.au.
Despite Team Fitzy losing, the team took it in their stride and generously donated $15,000 to the charity.
