Lost names: the monikers that have become extinct
Did you know that, just like some animals, last names can become extinct? It makes sense, if you think about it – when names are linked to specific places or professions, they can die out slowly. Many names were also lost after wars when young men were killed in battle.
Here are some of the names that are endangered and extinct:
