90 years of the Queen’s fashion goes on display at Buckingham Palace

If you’re lucky enough to be heading to London in the next couple of months, you may be in for a royal treat. 90 years of the Queen’s most iconic outfits are set to go on display on 23rd of July at Buckingham Palace as part of the “Fashioning A Reign: 90 Years of Style from the Queen’s Wardrobe” exhibition.

The display features some of Her Majesty’s most iconic outfits, including her 1947 wedding dress and 1953 Coronation gown, both designed by Sir Norman Hartnell, plus the never-before-seen overalls worn by the Queen during her service in WWII.

“The Queen transcends fashion but her clothes continue to reflect it,” The Royal Collection Senior Curator Caroline de Guitaut told Vogue. “She is completely involved in her wardrobe and works with leading British couturiers of the day but will reject designer's sketches if she doesn't like them.

“Consistently elegant, she dresses in bright, visible block colours, often with a complementary hat but note that we rarely see her in pattern.”

Take a look at some of the stunning outfits on exhibit in the gallery above and tell us in the comments below, which of Her Majesty’s looks is your favourite?
