Samantha Armytage reveals how she really feels about Karl Stefanovic
Samantha Armytage has opened up about how she really feels about Karl Stefanovic’s return to the Today show – the main competitor of her breakfast program, Sunrise.
Appearing on the Kyle and Jackie O Show along with her co-host David Koch, the channel Seven star was asked about her feelings towards Karl’s shock return, after he was axed from the program in late 2018.
“I didn’t see that coming,” she confessed.
Kochie added: “I didn’t think they had much choice,” before Sam said, “Well, it would seem that way.”
Kochie appeared to be pleased with Nine’s decision, saying it re-energised the competition and he’s prepared for whatever might come next.
“We’ve been in this game as long as you have,” he told Kyle and Jackie O, insisting he “respects Karl as a journalist.”
“And we know it can all change very quickly … [Nine is] a really professional organisation.
“So, they’ve got a new team together, and got [Karl] back, and I wish them well … not too well!”
Samantha revealed that her and Karl are good friends off-screen as they used to work together as cadet journalists. “He’s a good bloke!” she said.
