Stunning new lead uncovered in missing Beaumont children case
Police have confirmed a stunning new lead has been uncovered in the missing Beaumont children case, 52 years after three siblings disappeared from a beach in Adelaide.
Seven News revealed the breakthrough in a report on Wednesday, confirming a new dig site had been commenced in the search for the bodies of the missing children.
The dig site at North Plympton is reportedly quite close to where Jane, 9, Arnna, 7, and Grant, 4, tragically went missing after playing at Glenelg beach in 1966.
Police first investigated the site in 2013 after details published in a The Satin Man, in which local businessman Harry Phipps claimed his father had killed the children.
But Seven News reports an anomaly was discovered in another spot at the site just two weeks ago through ground penetrating radar, and the area is once more a crime scene.
It remains one of the most shocking abduction cases in Australian history.
