Urgent recall: Another frozen food removed from supermarket freezers

Another frozen produce product has been recalled today, following concerns it could be contaminated by the potentially deadly bacterial infection listeria.

Metcash has recalled all Black & Gold Mixed Vegetables 1kg from IGA, Campbells and Independent Grocers in Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, according to the New South Wales Food Authority.

Shoppers who purchased the frozen produce have been urged to not consume the product and to return it in store for a full refund.

This recall follows a string of frozen vegetables being removed from supermarket freezers due to a listeria outbreak in Europe, which made dozens sick and killed nine people.

Those who are at the highest risk of listeria include pregnant women and their unborn babies, elderly people and those with low immune systems, however, anyone with health concerns should seek medical advice.
