Vintage photos of Queen Elizabeth playing with her children
Daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I, Elizabeth II married Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947. The next year in 1948, they had a son, Charles, and in 1950, a daughter Anne. When her father died in 1952, Elizabeth became Queen in spectacular ceremony on June 2, 1953 in a spectacular ceremony. These pictures show her just a few months after her crowning where the 27-year-old Queen plays with her children, the prince and princess, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
