Lisa McCune sells Melbourne home for $5.25 million

Lisa McCune has sold her sprawling estate in Melbourne’s Sandringham for $5.25 million on Saturday.

The property at 54-56 Bamfield Street consists of five-bedrooms with a separate two-bedroom cottage at the rear.

Known as “Buxton”, the property was built around 1913 and sits on a large 1321-square-metre site.

Owned by McCune with former husband Tim Disney as tenants in common, according to public records, it was on the market for the first time in more than a decade.

The home was listed with Hodges Real Estate Brighton’s Campbell Cooney and Greg Downes.

Bidding opened at $4.4 million and moved in increments of between $100,000 and $5000.

Mr Cooney said the decision to sell the property via auction came at the last minute, following buyer feedback seeking greater transparency.

“This had started off as an expressions of interest campaign due to the stage four lockdown but, at the end, the buyers were unsure about that process,” he said.

“We spoke to them and decided we’d convert it to an auction.”

McCune is the recipient of 10 Logie Awards including four Gold Logies and is also known for her screen roles in Sea Patrol and How to Stay Married.
