Cruising

Looking back at cruise fashion of the past

Fashion in the 1950s was taken very seriously by women and even a trip to the grocery or to run errands would require a fashionable outfit.

When travelling on holiday, many women would go and purchase an entire wardrobe just for the occasion.

“Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” starring Marilyn Monroe was proof that cruising from New York to France required a pristine wardrobe.

The clothes the models wore were vacation or resort inspired and incorporated elaborate details and accessories.
