"Forever home" no more: Karl Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn sell family mansion for $9 million

Cassandra Thorburn and former husband Karl Stefanovic have officially cut all property ties after the sale of their $9 million Cremorne home in Sydney's exclusive north shore.

It took all of three weeks and little to no marketing.

The three-storey home was initially a half-built concrete shell when the couple bought it back in 2016.

However, before Thorburn could move their family into the home after it was complete in 2017, the marriage between her and Stefanovic had crumbled.

Piers van Hamburg, of Di Jones Neutral Bay, was offering the property quietly to interested buyers with a $9 million to $10 million price guide. This was ahead of plans to hit the real estate market formally for start of the spring selling season.

Insiders have said to Domain that the house was snapped up on Monday evening after negotiations with two buyers for more than the $9 million the former couple were asking for. The home was sold to a local family.

Van Hamburg declined to reveal the exact sale price of the luxurious property.

The sprawling home itself is on a north-facing block of 450 square metres. There are five bedrooms, formal and informal living areas, an indoor swimming pool, steam room and a wine cellar. There is also a boat shed on the title, as well as a soon-to-be-built jetty.
