Inside Ricky Ponting's new $3.5 million beachside mansion
Former Australian cricket captain turned commentator Ricky Ponting has splashed out on a beachside house in Portsea, Victoria.
Ricky and his wife Rianna took an educated gamble upon purchasing the house and paid $3.51 million for the four-bedroom mansion.
The house itself is close to Fisherman’s Beach and is also close to the famous Portsea Hotel.
The home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a self-cleaning pool, integrated music system and a double lock-up garage. It’s expected that the property will be a home away from home for the Ponting family.
It was on the market for 300 days, but Sotheby’s International Realty’s Rob Curtain, who handled the sale, said that this sale reflected general trends in the Portsea market. He told news.com.au:
“The market is tough down here, turnover across the board is well down on previous years,” he said.
“We aren’t crowing about it as a record sale, but it is by no means a bargain. It’s the right price.”
