Jetstar launches massive Christmas sale
Jetstar has launched a massive Christmas sale to make up for massive losses due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The company is offering 300,000 fares across 55 domestic routes, with some flights starting from $29 one way (Adelaide to Avalon, Melbourne).
The sale starts today and ends on 11:59 pm Saturday 19th, so get in quick if you want a last-minute Christmas gift for your loved ones.
Jetstar Group CEO Gareth Evans said that the airline is in a unique position to offer additional flights in the new year.
"We have a lot of repair work to do given the huge toll the COVID crisis took on airlines. But the flexibility we have across our fleet means we can offer these extra services, help boost tourism and the local economies of the communities we fly to and also get more of our people back in the air," he says.
The airline has committed to operating more than 860 return weekly flights over 55 routes by March 2021.
A recent survey done by Jetstar shows that 86 per cent of respondents said they intend to travel domestically in 2021, with more than half planning on visiting places they've never been before.
