Bali flight makes emergency landing after wife's shock discovery
A plane passenger who searched through her husband’s phone mid-flight discovered he was having an affair and caused such a commotion that the flight had to make an emergency landing.
On Sunday, a woman who was travelling with her husband and their young child on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Bali, unlocked her sleeping husband’s phone by using his fingerprint and then found evidence he was cheating.
The woman who reportedly had been drinking alcohol, then started a fight with her husband and “misbehaved” when flight crew attempted to calm her down.
The situation escalated and got “out of hand” so the pilot made the decision to divert the flight to Chennai, India.
The family were offloaded at Chennai airport and the plane continued its journey to Bali.
As there were no security issues, the family were later able to fly to Kuala Lumpur when they boarded a flight back to Doha.
An official from India’s Central Industrial Security Force confirmed the incident in a statement.
“A lady along with her husband and a child, all Iranian nationals, were offloaded by Qatar Airline as the lady passenger (who was intoxicated) misbehaved with crew members in-flight,” the official said.
“They were sent to Kuala Lumpur by Batik Air flight 6019 for further travel to Doha.”
Qatar Airways told the Times of India, “In respect of passenger privacy we do not comment on individual cases.”
