About a decade ago the pair discovered a network of tunnels and after some 700 metric tonnes of rubble were removed the “hidden world” came into view.
Mr Minin and Mr De Luzio are now letting visitors into the new tunnel complex, with a stairway 115 steps long, a 17th century cistern, and graffiti left from World War II.
