Passengers stunning discovery in plane seat pocket

From used tissues to the discarded remains of an inflight meal to pretty much anything that had something to do with the person sitting there before you got in, the list of things you never want to find in your plane seat pocket is long. But we think the item featured in today’s story of a mid-air mishap might just take the cake.

News.com.au reports a passenger on a recent flight stumbled across top-secret US government documents marked “for official use only” and “important for homeland security”.

The passenger, who incredibly happened to be a CNN reporter, found the documents which were believed to contain sensitive anti-terrorism information about the Super Bowl.

CNN reports the documents, which dated back to December 2017, criticised the planned response to a potential anthrax attack on the US Bank Stadium, and made a range of recommendations to handle and assess the situation.

CNN also reportedly claims they waited until after the game to report on the discovery of the papers, due to concerns expressed by officials at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
