Can you spot what's wrong with this road sign?
Anyone who isn’t Peter Pan on the sly would have a hard time finding their way to Neverland, which was why motorists in the UK were so confused when they noticed directions to the fictional, fantasy world posted on this road sign.
This is just one of a host of directions to fantasy locations which have cropped up on road signs in southern England, which directions to Gotham City, Narnia and Middle Earth.
These make-believe lands have been expectedly added to common signs with such precision, that most motorists would simply drive by without batting an eyelid.
The rouge signs have brought a bit of online attention to the small town of Didcot in Oxfordshire, 90kms west of London, but not everybody’s pleased with the additions.
The Daily Telegraph reports the local council is set to remove the factious places.
Mayor Jackie Billington, told the BBC, “I saw it online and thought I would go and have a look but I never made it to Middle Earth.
“I’m concerned that a tourist could be driving around for hours trying to find Gotham City,” she added.
A spokesperson for the council told The Independent it was no laughing matter.
“While on the surface amusing, it is vandalism and a potential distraction for drivers,” he said.
“We will investigate, as soon as the weather improves.”
What are your thoughts? Is it a fun prank? Or is the potential for distraction too high?
