Readers response: What’s the best travel advice you’ve ever received?

When planning a holiday, it's not unlikely to receive travel advice from others who have explored the world.

We asked our readers to share the best travel advice they have ever received, and the response was overwhelming. Here's what they said.

Liz Mendygral - You must have travel insurance.

Nancy Rogers - Travel light and clever.

Anne Denise Houghton - If you are in a different country and see something you would really like to do, do it then as tomorrow you may miss the opportunity!

Deedee Cullum - Get off the beaten tourist track and meet the real people.

Karen Ambrose - When crossing the road in busy Vietnam cities, keep walking and the traffic will go around you. DON'T STOP!

Fran Cresswell - Pack what you think you will need then take out half of it!!

Bill King - Respect the customs of the country you are visiting.

Lorraine Kirkwood - Pack a spare set of clothes and Pjs in your cabin luggage. When your suitcases get lost you are ok.

Chris Walker - Go while you can.

Terry Dolman - Book your flight way ahead. Saves mega $$.

Denise Sutherland - Where your passport is concerned NEVER BEHAVE BADLY, save that for your backyard.
