“Heartbreaking”: Innocent man killed in fatal car crash
The driver of a stolen four-wheel-drive that sped away from police in north of Brisbane overnight and ploughed into a car, killing the driver, tried to assault officers at the scene.
“He didn’t go quietly,” said a spokeswoman for Queensland Police Service to news.com.au.
“He didn’t co-operate.”
According to the Courier-Mail, the driver attempted to flee the scene and spat blood at police officers.
One person in each car died overnight on Gympie Arterial Rd in Bald Hills including a 32-year-old man in the stolen 4WD, which was driving in the opposite direction in the southbound lane.
A 36-year-old man who was driving in the correct lane was also tragically killed.
He has been identified by friends on social media as Brisbane husband and father Shahid Islam.

“May Allah give enough patience to the family to bear this loss.
“Don’t know what to say or how to say this to his four-year-old son.”
Others said that his death was “heartbreaking”, “extremely sad” and “horrific news”.
