Man shares battle to get rude woman to move her feet on flight

One man has tweeted his battle with a rude passenger who had taken her shoes off and put her feet on the tray table next to him.

US man Frederick Joseph was flying on a United Airlines plane when he took to social media to share a photo of the woman’s feet next to him on the tray table – and complain about how little help he got from cabin crew on the plane.

“The audacity of white privilege… This woman next to me took her shoes off and placed both feet on the table, so I’m waiting for flight staff to say something...” Joseph said on Twitter.

“So flight staff walk by numerous times without saying anything, and I’m irate, because no black person would ever get away with this s**t.

“So I start looking at the staff noting that there is an issue. You know, giving them the snitch eye...”

Even when food was served, Joseph tweeted that the woman refused to move her feet from next to his meal and instead blamed the cramped plane for having to put her feet up on the tray table.

“So I’m like ‘I understand, which is why there is room for your feet and legs under the seat in front of you?’” he continued.

“So she says ‘This is why I fly first class, and I don’t come back here with everyone else.’

“So I’m like ‘That’s great, so are you going to put your feet down?’”

Joseph said after he spoke to the woman, she immediately flagged down a flight attendant.

“She says to the flight attendant ‘this man is disrupting my flight, I’m just trying to be comfortable’,” Mr Joseph said.

“So I point at her feet and explain my stance.”

He then claimed the flight attendant asked the woman to put one foot down — and then offered the woman a $1300 flight voucher as compensation.

Joseph was so outraged he called United Airlines’ customer service as soon as he got off the flight.

The customer service rep assured him that the woman in question had not received compensation and that the incident couldn’t be “anything to do with race or culture”.

Joseph signed off from social media declaring he was “moving on from the situation” but maintained his belief the woman received preferential treatment because of her race.
