You’re all packed, at the terminal, checked in and ready to board the plane… life doesn’t get any better than this.
But life has something else in store for you.
If your luck is anything like ours, every worst possible thing you can imagine happening while on holiday WILL happen to you.
Below are the top five awful scenarios that could occur when all you want is to get away.

Getting sick
No matter who you are, no one wants to waste their holiday sick but it’s not exactly something you can control.
Stock up on Vitamin C and make sure your travel insurance covers you if you go to the doctor and require medication.

Being scammed
You’ve finally arrived at your destination and all you need is to get to the hotel or holiday home but you’re shocked to find that the places doesn’t exist or a family actually lives there.
To avoid being scammed, research in advance and read your guidebook for tips on common tourist scams for the country you’re traveling to.

Yeah look, this one is out of everyone’s hands.

Losing your luggage
Look, these things happen but doesn’t this mean you can go shop for something exciting and new?
If you’re not looking to waste your time shopping, contact your airline and organise a way for them to get in contact when/if your luggage is found.

Trouble with the law
Remember, what’s okay in Australia may not be acceptable elsewhere.
If you're arrested or jailed overseas, you have the right to contact the Australian Government for help.
They however, can’t get you out of trouble or out of jail, but will do what they can to assist.
