Naomi Osaka shares first snaps of newborn daughter

<p dir="ltr">Tennis star Naomi Osaka has shared a few updates for the first time since <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/family-pets/naomi-osaka-is-a-mum" target="_blank" rel="noopener">giving birth</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 25-year-old could not hide her excitement of being a mum as she took to Instagram to share a snap of her newborn daughter and a few other photos - including a glimpse into her nursery</p> <p dir="ltr">“Well that was a cool little intermission, now back to your regularly scheduled program 🎾✌🏾💕” she captioned the photo.</p> <p dir="ltr">Her newborn baby girl wore a white baby romper embroidered with green and pink tennis rackets and tennis balls.</p> <p dir="ltr">In the second photo she shared another picture of her baby bump with a stunning background view from her Beverly Hills house.</p> <p dir="ltr">She shared a few other snaps including one from her hospital bed, and another of her celebrations at home - complete with pink balloons that spell out “mom” and rose petals adorning the picnic blanket.</p> <p dir="ltr">This is Naomi’s first child with her rapper beau, Cordae, who she’s been in a relationship with since 2019.</p> <p dir="ltr">Fans took to the comments to share their well-wishes to the first time mum.</p> <p dir="ltr">“A Girl Mom. Nothing will ever top that official title that you now bestow on ,” wrote one fan.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Congratulations Naomi and Cordae! Naomi you’re already the best momma 💗💗🥰 bet she’s gonna be as beautiful as you are,” wrote another.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Congrats Mama you did it! Couldn’t be happier for you,” commented a third.</p> <p dir="ltr">Just a few hours after the initial update, she posted a gallery of her nursery which had sky-inspired decor and a gender-neutral colour scheme which was complimented by a few personal touches.</p> <p dir="ltr">Aside from the neutral colours and wood used to decorate the room, she added a few fun touches including cloud shaped pillows and a Totoro plushie.</p> <p dir="ltr">Many fans have praised Naomi for her “beautiful” design choices.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

“A little life update”: Naomi Osaka’s big news

<p>Right on the heels of <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/best-year-yet-ash-barty-shares-pregnancy-announcement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ash Barty’s announcement</a> that she will become a mum in 2023, Naomi Osaka has revealed that she too will join Barty in welcoming a baby to the world this year.</p> <p>Tennis fans were rightly downcast when two-time Australian Open champ Osaka pulled out from the tournament last week – but now the world can see that her reasons were joyous indeed, after the 25-year-old revealed the news she was expecting on Instagram on Thursday morning.</p> <p>Posting a snap of an ultrasound in a carousel of images, Osaka wrote: "Can't wait to get back on the court but here's a little life update for 2023."</p> <p>This will be the first child for Osaka and rapper boyfriend Cordae, 25.</p> <p>In a statement shared in English and Japanese in the slides of her Instagram post, Osaka shared reflections on her next chapter.</p> <p>"The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that it's the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun," she wrote.</p> <p>"These few months away from the sport have really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I've dedicated my life to."</p> <p>"I realise that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure.</p> <p>"I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I'm looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mum,' haha."</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; Naomi Osaka's stunning new mega-mansion 

<p>Naomi Osaka, former World No. 1 tennis player, has forked out $8.7 million (US$6.3m) for former boy-band star Nick Lachey's LA home.</p> <p>This isn't the first time the famed athlete has bought a home from a pop star. In 2019, Osaka splashed $9.5 million (US$6.9m) on buying Nick Jonas' 90210 pad.</p> <p>The San Fernando Valley purchase happened off market, according to Dirt, and appears to be a tidy pay day for Lachey and wife Vanessa. The pair only lived there for a year after buying the house in late 2020 for $7 million (US$5.1m).</p> <p>Nick Lachey is best known as the former 98 Degrees boyband singer, Jessica Simpson's ex-husband and co-host of Netflix's Love Is Blind.</p> <p>Osaka is well placed to indulge in luxury real estate. Forbes estimates the Japanese-Haitian tennis superstar's income reached $83 million (US$60 million) in a single year, making her the highest-paid female athlete of all time.</p> <p>Located in LA's Tarzana neighbourhood, the East Coast traditional-inspired manor was newly built in 2015 and boasts an outdoor feature Osaka was no doubt drawn to – a sunken sports court.</p> <p>Behind a double-gated driveway, the home welcomes you with manicured front garden and driveway parking for a dozen or more cars, plus a four-car garage.</p> <p>Interiors feature a large gourmet eat-in kitchen with dual islands, a formal dining room sports wainscoting and a patterned wallpaper, a lounge area with beautiful coffered ceiling and fireplace and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.</p> <p>There's a media room that acts a second comfy lounge room and a "parlor games room" that in listing photos is equipped with pool table and wet bar that can easily seat five sports fans. There's also a movie theatre.</p> <p>All five of the home's bedrooms enjoy ensuite full bathrooms, with an additional two powder rooms in the residence. The upstairs main suite comes with a fireplace, private balcony, private sitting room and dual closets.</p> <p>Year-round outdoor entertaining is also on offer, with a covered loggia including fans and a fireplace.</p> <p>Outside, the resort-style backyard has grassy lawns, a fire pit, stamped concrete patio and a dark-bottomed pool. Naomi Osaka's feud with Piers Morgan heats up

<p>Naomi Osaka bought her Beverly Hills pad back in 2019, and now it seems like she has truly made the place her personal piece of paradise.</p> <p>The tennis star spent $7 million on the U.S. homestead after she infamously defeated the great Serena Williams during the 2018 Open and was crowned the champion.</p> <p>The Japanese sportswoman has racked up an incredible $38 million from prize money and endorsements in just the past year, making her the highest paid female athlete, as reported by Forbes.</p> <p>Osaka bought the grand three-bedroom, four-bathroom architectural haven from singer Nick Jonas,</p> <p>Sitting among some of the world’s most expensive homes, high in the mountains, is the star’s private home, which spans over 4,100 square feet.</p> <p>With almost everything except small spaces, the elevated ceilings and sky-high ceilings add to the grandeur design of the home and allows for an abundance of natural light.</p> <p>The amenities of the home including an incredibly beautiful floating guesthouse and a terrace with an infinity pool and private courtyard.</p> <p>If that were not enough to entice any eager buyer, the glorious oasis also includes a Miele chefs kitchen with a wine refrigerator and built-in espresso machine.</p> <p>Even Osaka’s bathroom is a sight to behold with a freestanding Agape Spoon tub.</p>

Piers Morgan's scathing attack on Naomi Osaka

<p>Piers Morgan is standing by his criticism of Naomi Osaka despite a fierce backlash after he accused her of playing the victim and adopting a strategy straight from the "Meghan and Harry playbook".</p> <p>The British media personality has been a ferocious critic of Meghan and Harry and in a column for the Daily Mail earlier this week, accused Osaka of exploiting the issue of mental health to avoid attending press conferences at the French Open.</p> <p>Osaka has since pulled out of the Grand Slam completely after only one round due to mental health reasons, saying she has suffered "long bouts of depression" since 2018 and gets "anxiety" when speaking to the world's media.</p> <p>While many people were critical of Osaka's initial claim saying the media has no regard for players' mental health, the world has largely shown support to the Japanese athlete following her decision to pull out of Roland Garros and take time away from tennis.</p> <p>However, Morgan isn’t backing down, responding to a host of tweets criticising him — some of which accused the former TV star of having a problem with women of colour.</p> <p>“What does her skin colour have to do with it? I’d have written the same column if Naomi Osaka was white. I’ve never cheated in my life. Nobody owes you an apology, you owe a lot of people an apology and when you calm down, I hope you realise that.</p> <p>“It just felt uncomfortable because she really snapped, she really lost it. I felt sorry for her to some degree, but she doubled down later, and she really does owe her opponent an apology. It was poor form.”</p> <p>On Channel 9’s <em>Sports Sunday</em>, Richard Freedman also had something to say.</p> <p>“The whole bringing in the motherhood thing, ‘I’ve got a daughter and I don’t want her to think I was cheating’, what about blowing up in front of a stand full of people and international television audience and going on like a two-bob watch, is that what you want your daughter to see,” he said.</p> <p>“And I cannot get over the crowds cheering that sort of behaviour – what sort of morons are sitting in those stands? – and booing the poor girl who stood at the other end, first grand slam, totally intimidated and then booing her. That’s just unbelievable.”</p> <p>Osaka made history as she is the first Japanese person to take home the title, and the first Japanese player to win a grand slam event. The 20-year-old is still undefeated in 2018.</p> <p>But while the achievement was meant to be celebrated, instead what Osaka was faced with was being overshadowed by her much more senior opponent.</p> <p>Osaka even apologised for winning the match, saying, “I know everyone was cheering for her, I’m sorry it had to end like this.”</p> <p><img style="width: 0px; height:0px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7820732/gettyimages-1029927246.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/61f03241787a4bf3bf11e1efaf563448" /></p> <p>Williams was seen comforting the champion and asked the crowd to stop booing.</p> <p>Do you agree with the umpire’s decision?
