American style bacon cheeseburger

American style bacon cheeseburger

This American-style burger topped with bacon and cheese is sure to satisfy your deepest cravings. 

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • Brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of steak sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5kg of ground beef
  • 4 slices of orange American cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 8 strips of bacon, fried
  • Lettuce, tomato, red onion, American mustard, sliced dill pickles, mayonnaise, ketchup (to serve)

Method:

  1. Combine onion, ketchup, garlic, sugar, Worcestershire, steak sauce, vinegar in a large bowl. Mix.
  2. Add beef and combine thoroughly.
  3. Form beef into four hamburger patties.
  4. Grill burgers over medium heat on the BBQ until cooked through, flipping halfway.
  5. Towards end of grilling, top with cheese and allow to melt.
  6. Serve between toasted buns topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, mustard, pickles, mayonnaise, ketchup and bacon.
