Samantha Knight’s killer Michael Guider to walk free 33 years after murder

The man who murdered nine-year-old Bondi girl Samantha Knight in 1986 will be released from jail within days.
An application that wanted to keep paedophile Michael Guider behind bars for another year has been rejected by an NSW Supreme Court judge.
Guider pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Knight in 2002, and was sentenced to 16 years in prison. Till today, police do not know what he did with her body.
Guider has completed his sentence and was expected to be released from jail earlier this year, but the NSW Government intervened, requesting the Supreme Court to add an extended supervision order to keep him locked up.
He is now set to be released on Thursday, and will be supervised for five years.
