Body language expert reveals “telling” signs Michael Clarke lied

<p>A body language expert has weighed in on the infamous public scuffle where former Cricketer, Michael Clarke, was accused of cheating on his girlfriend, Jade Yarbrough.</p> <p>Louanne Ward, an Australian relationship expert, told <em>The Daily Mail</em> that some of Clarke's words and actions were indicative of him not telling the truth.</p> <p>The first sign that Clarke wasn't being truthful was when he took his shirt off to try and "make himself look bigger".</p> <p>"People....often make really big, bold gestures in an attempt to intimidate, look at the way Michael was walking in that video and you'll notice his arms are rounded and splayed," she said.</p> <p>She also told <em>The Daily Mail</em> that removing his shirt is a "fight response".</p> <p>The second sign the expert identified was the rising inflections in his voice as he pleaded with his girlfriend.</p> <p>"When someone is not telling the truth, their voice goes up a little bit at the end of a word," she highlighted.</p> <p>"You'll notice that you can definitely hear the inflections in Michael's voice when he speaks to Jade".</p> <p>Another "telling" sign was Clarke's choice to deflect the argument back to Jade.</p> <p>"Go, hit me ... do it again. You're wrong, you're f**king wrong," Clarke deflected in the video.</p> <p>The expert said that in choosing to say "you're wrong" instead of "I", "he's not taking any responsibility," which could be "indicative of guilt".</p> <p>Another subtle sign, according to the expert, was that he "kept shuffling his feet while he was standing with Jade", which is a natural response.</p> <p>The expert said that when people are being accused of something, "the limbic brain - which controls our behavioural and emotional responses - switches on and freezes body responses."</p> <p>"So when he can't keep his feet still, that could seem to be a sign of something not quite right".</p> <p>The last tell-tale sign was that he tried to invade Jade's personal space despite her walking away from him.</p> <p>"Clearly, Michael got slapped and that's a big invasion of personal space," said the expert.</p> <p>"But when someone tries to remove themselves from the situation like Jade walked off, and you go and follow them and get back in their space".</p> <p>The expert said that it's impossible to tell if someone is lying based on their body language alone and that we should look out for clusters of behaviours.</p> <p>"If they have three different things, then you can certainly tell that if they're not being dishonest, then there is something that is making them exceptionally uncomfortable, it's important to look at all aspects of their behaviour," she said.</p> <p><em>Image: Getty</em></p>

Karl Stefanovic and Michael Clarke caught in public scuffle over cheating claims

<p>Australian cricket legend Michael Clarke and TV personality Karl Stefanovic have been filmed in a fight over cheating claims while holidaying in Noosa.</p> <p>The incident occurred on January 10 and was released to <em>The Daily Telegraph</em> on Wednesday.</p> <p>Clarke and Stefanovic were having dinner with their partners, Jade and Jasmine Yarbrough, when their friendly dinner was cut short as Jade confronted Clarke after she reportedly contacted the former cricketer's ex-partner Pip Edwards.</p> <p>“You f**ked her on December 17 … You f**ked her, you’re a f**king dog,” Jade screamed.</p> <p>Clarke vigorously denied the accusations, saying that he was with their celebrity accountant friend Anthony Bell.</p> <p>"Baby, baby, Belly was at the house. I swear on my life, I swear at my life… That's not true, it's not true," he continued.</p> <p>Jade refuted, saying that his ex-partner told her about it: "You're f**king lying to me. You are a piece of s**t. I just spoke to her. What is wrong with you?"</p> <p>At this moment, her sister Jasmine and Stefanovic tried to intervene, which led to Clarke taking his anger out on the TV show host.</p> <p>"Karlos, I can tell you now c**t, don't you f**king walk away. She can, she can punch me, but not you, you c**t," Clarke said.</p> <p>Jade continued to yell at Clarke and hit him.</p> <p>“You piece of s**t, don’t you f**king speak to him,” she defended her brother-in-law.</p> <p>Clarke insisted that Jade was wrong, to which Jade retorted: "Oh am I wrong? You f**ked her [Edwards] on December 17, you f**ked her… you're a f**king dog… I'm going to show her every f**king message you ever f**king sent me".</p> <p>The video footage ended with Jasmine and Bell separating the couple.</p> <p>In a statement to <em>The Daily Telegraph</em>, the former cricketer accepted full responsibility for his actions.</p> <p>“I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position,” he said. “My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable.</p> <p>“I am shattered that because of my actions I’ve drawn women of class and integrity, and my mates, into this situation.”</p> <p>“I own this fully and am the only one at fault.”</p> <p>Clarke’s ex, Edward, also released a statement, hitting back with: “This is not my circus"</p> <p>“Yet again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to," she said.</p> <p>Karl Stefanovic has yet to release a statement, with the topic being ignored on today's segment of <em>The Today Show</em>.</p> <p><em>Image: Getty, The Daily Telegraph, 7News</em></p>

“This has shattered us”: BBC reality star Jasmine Burkitt has passed away

<p dir="ltr">British reality star Jasmine Burkitt, known as Jazz to her loved ones and friends, has died aged 28.</p> <p dir="ltr">Burkitt was known for her 2011 documentary, Small Teen, Bigger World, a four-part series on BBC Three where she gave viewers an insight into her life as a teenager with dwarfism.</p> <p dir="ltr">Her fiancé, Lewis Burke, confirmed the news of her passing on social media earlier this week, per <em><a href="https://celebrity.nine.com.au/latest/jasmine-burkitt-dead-at-28-bbc-reality-star/b4cb4bdf-b00b-40ab-a78c-f25a3092dc9b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">9Honey</a></em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She is the most incredible human that ever walked this planet, she is the strongest, funniest, most kindest and purely decent person I’ve ever known,” he wrote on their shared Facebook page.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I am truly devastated. She changed my life forever and I’ll never be the same.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Burke, who was in hospital for a heart operation at the time of her passing, said Burkitt had passed away “after a long battle with a serious mental illness”.</p> <p dir="ltr">According to multiple media outlets, Norman Burkitt, Burkitt’s grandfather, said Burke’s mother found her body in a tent where she and Burke had been living since 2021.</p> <p dir="ltr">The couple had been documenting their life living in a tent in Bodelwyddan, Wales, on their Facebook page, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/lewisandjazz/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Join our Journey</a>, after struggling to get council accommodation.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We’re a differently abled couple who happen to live in a tent outdoors, in the UK,” the introduction on their page reads.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Although this wasn’t really our first choice, we are still determined to remain happy and productive throughout!! We are turning our homelessness from something negative to something positive.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Burkitt’s grandfather said the couple’s situation highlighted the “desperate” housing situation in Wales, since the couple couldn’t get public housing together as they were from two different parts of the country.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The coroner has rang us to say there will be a post mortem. They were living in this tent because they could not get a house,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">He described his granddaughter as a “fantastic girl” who was “so clever and bright”, emphasising her love of art and her television success.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She broke all sorts of viewing records at the BBC and got two awards,” he said. “This has shattered us, we have had no sleep. Everyone will miss her.”</p> <p dir="ltr">While Burkitt was filming her show, she was a registered carer for her mother, who later died from lung and breathing problems in 2014. Both had an undiagnosed form of dwarfism, which doctors couldn’t find the cause for.</p> <p dir="ltr">Her grandfather revealed she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had a heart valve issue that meant she was taking three different types of medication and had to have hospital check-ups every six months.</p> <p dir="ltr">In January, Burkitt shared with her followers on Instagram that she had been hospitalised due to her physical and mental health at the end of the previous year, adding that she was “so happy to be much more stable” and couldn’t wait to be back with Burke and their dog, Loki.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-662c7374-7fff-b002-8b29-ade203924b07"></span></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: @joinourjourneyinsta (Instagram)</em></p>

Karl Stefanovic’s daughter rushed to hospital

<p dir="ltr">Karl Stefanovic has issued a grave warning to parents after his daughter was rushed to hospital in a terrible condition. </p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Today</em> co-host teared up as he spoke about the terrifying ordeal which saw him and wife Jasmine rush two-year-old Harper to hospital.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Little Harpie, she went downhill. She just had a sniffle and a small cough. Then within six hours, we had her at the GP.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We gave her Neurofen, Pandadol but her heartbeat went up to 200 and her temperature was at 40 in almost an instant. So it got a hold of her. </p> <p dir="ltr">“It was only because of a great GP she was able to get on top of it, straight into the ambulance, then to the hospital. She was there overnight.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Karl said the reason he is speaking about the “really scary” incident is to remind people about our doctors and nurses doing it tough. </p> <p dir="ltr">“They're just so good at what they do, they were able to sort things out. But there's so many kids out there at the moment who are going through this.</p> <p dir="ltr">“There were literally thousands of parents in similar situations.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We are lucky it wasn’t more serious, and we were lucky we had good people around her.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Karl confirmed baby Harper is now doing much better.</p> <p dir="ltr">Associate Professor Margie Danchin, a paediatrician at the Royal Children's Hospital, said emergency departments were filled with worried parents and their sick children. </p> <p dir="ltr">"We don't want parents going to the emergency department waiting six to eight hours if they can go to their GP," she said.</p> <p dir="ltr">"If a child has breathing difficulty or any blueness around the lips, or any signs of dehydration - if they're not drinking, if they're listless, pale, those are the things that should encourage a parent to take their child to the emergency department.</p> <p dir="ltr">"But if the child has a fever, cough, runny nose, those sorts of more mild respiratory symptoms, then we would encourage them to access community care first."</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: The Today Show</em></p>

No sale for Karl's big holiday home hopes

<p dir="ltr">Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmin Yarbrough have struggled to sell their beachfront home. </p> <p dir="ltr">The pair purchased the stunning Sunshine Beach home in 2019 for $3.5 million in 2019, just before the pandemic hit and had only spent five weeks there.</p> <p dir="ltr">The pair were told by real estate agents that their home could fetch up to $7.5 million but no offer was placed during last week’s auction. </p> <p dir="ltr">Karl confessed that he couldn’t keep travelling between Sydney and Queensland during the pandemic so they decided to sell the house. </p> <p dir="ltr">“We purchased the property on Seaview Terrace just before the pandemic hit,” Karl said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We’ve added a teenage retreat, a bathroom and a wine cellar. It’s a really beautiful slice of Sunshine Beach paradise. The views are incredible and we just love the people and area.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The reality though is I can’t get away from work in Sydney nearly enough and the logistics of coming in and out of Queensland have been challenging.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Eventually we will come back to Noosa when we have more time. If we can afford it. It’s the best beach community anywhere.’’</p> <p dir="ltr">The beautiful estate boasts five bedrooms, all which have sea views, undercover terraces, ensuites, and customised variations of curved and seashell-inspired headboards.</p> <p dir="ltr">The multi-level villa also has five bathrooms, a huge kitchen with a marble island, and a pool outside. Karl Stefanovic lists beachfront home with “heavy heart”

<p dir="ltr">After spending just five weeks in their beachfront home, Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic have decided to <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-sunshine+beach-138661443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sell</a> the multimillion-dollar Noosa holiday house.</p> <p dir="ltr">Despite buying the home for $3.5 million in 2019 and undertaking some luxe renovations, the <em>Today </em>show host and his shoe-designer wife struggled to make good use of the home due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions between NSW and Queensland.</p> <p dir="ltr">Real estate agents have told the Stefanovics their home could fetch up to $7.5 million when it heads to auction on March 24, thanks to climbing property prices and their renovations, as reported by the <a href="https://www.couriermail.com.au/entertainment/confidential/karl-and-jasmine-stefanovic-sell-sunshine-beach-holiday-home/news-story/fb9a781cdd9f82a83a041c13375c9a78" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Courier Mail</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">Karl, who is rumoured to be on a $2 million salary at Channel 9, said they made the decision to sell with a “heavy heart”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We purchased the property on Seaview Terrace just before the pandemic hit,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We’ve added a teenager retreat, a bathroom and a wine cellar. The views are incredible and we just love the people and area.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The walks around the headlands are unbelievable.”</p> <p dir="ltr">They weren’t the only public figures to invest in the area either, with Karl revealing that former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and mining mogul Gina Rineheart both bought in the “same street and neighbourhood” as they moved in.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The reality though is I can’t get away from work in Sydney nearly enough and the logistics of coming in and out of Queensland have been challenging,” he explained.</p> <p dir="ltr">Karl noted that he and Jasmine hope to return to Noosa when they have more time and if they can afford it.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It’s the best beach community anywhere,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">The couple both have family in Queensland, but have struggled to see them due to their work commitments in Sydney and travel restrictions.</p> <p dir="ltr">But, they did manage to head up to the Sunshine Coast over Christmas, where Karl later <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/entertainment/tv/intense-karl-reveals-entire-family-caught-covid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed their whole family contracted Covid</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I am a little croaky,” he <a href="https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/karl-and-jasmine-stefanovic-selling-noosa-holiday-house-could-make-4m-profit/news-story/6a0988e0066a1e0580ceabf1d4713947" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared</a> with his <em>Today </em>show co-hosts upon his return. “The last couple of weeks, going back to January 3 or 4, the whole family tested positive. Jasmine Stefanovic's family heartbreak

<p><em>Image: Getty </em></p> <p>Jasmine Stefanovic Nèe Yarbrough’s grandmother, Isabel Hollingworth, has passed away at 95 years of age.</p> <p>Announcing the sad news on her Instagram, the shoe designer posted a collage of photos of herself with her grandmother, alongside a very sweet poem entitled ‘Nana’s Love.’</p> <p>“The days may dance too swiftly as your Quickstep becomes a Waltz, but your voice still sings with angels Sunday mornings, when it matters most,” the poem begins.</p> <p>“Take your afternoon tea and chocolate and come with me down memory lane, hold my hand on Burleigh beach where my childhood days,” the poem continues.</p> <p>“With the softest touch of Nana’s love guiding me as I’ve grown, you shone brighter than any star in a class, all of your own. I learnt the art of being a lady. The value of grace and being kind. <p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Today</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;"> host Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine’s new Sydney home has been listed for rent just three months after the couple purchased it.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The four-bedroom house in Sydney’s North Shore was listed for rent on realestate.com.au this week for a weekly rent of $1800 and a bond of $7200.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The current median rental price in the area is $1375 a week, according to data from realestate.com.au.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Having </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/property/real-estate/sneak-peek-inside-karl-stefanovic-s-new-suburban-oasis" target="_blank"><span style="font-weight: 400;">settled on the property</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> just before Sydney went into lockdown in June, the Stefanovics’ home is available to rent from this weekend.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Though they had plans to renovate the $3.2 million home according to </span><em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/details-of-karl-stefanovics-multimillion-dollar-house-revealed/news-story/cbcf9bc387c6bd7bc1856a1f6f5f0a9f" target="_blank"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Daily Telegraph</span></a></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">, no development application has been launched with Willoughby Council so far.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With four levels and views of Middle Harbour from most bedrooms, the home also boasts a pool, an open plan kitchen, a self-contained studio, and a private courtyard.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The delay in moving into the Castlecrag property has some believing the family are renting a six-bedroom house around the corner instead.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The pair also own a property on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, which they purchased just before the country entered lockdown in 2020.</span></p> <p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Images: Karl Stefanovic / Instagram, realestate.com.au</span></em></p>

Stars lead the charge in support of Charlie Teo

<p><span>Eyes are buzzing on the home recently secured by Karl Stefanovic and his shoe-designer wife, Jasmine.</span><br /><br /><span>The three-bedroom family home set in the close-knit suburb of Castlecrag is where Stefanovic has decided to permanently place his family – and for the long haul, it seems.</span><br /><br /><span>The pair along with their tiny tot have experience with living in the suburb, as they rented a home there.</span><br /><br /><span>They have since purchased a full-brick property in one of the most sought after streets in Castlecrag.</span><br /><br /><span>Based on photos released of the property, it would come as little surprise if the family were planning renovations on the comfy space.</span><br /><br /><span>While anyone who knows the sale price has remained tight-lipped, it’s clear the home would have gone for a high sum.</span><br /><br /><span>With a self-contained studio that has its own bathroom and separate entry – it would come as no shock that the family shelled out for the special feature.</span><br /><br /><span>Castlecrag has become a real hot spot for young families over the years and the home secured by the Stefanovic family was just one of three listed at the time.</span><br /><br /><span>The couple spend much of the year in Queensland, splashing out $3.6 million on a luxury beach house in Noosa.</span><br /><br /><span>Jasmine’s family live in Brisbane and Karl happened to start his journalism career there, so it comes as little surprise that it’s where the couple choose to spend most of their time.</span></p>
