Shocked kiteboarder accidentally hits humpback whale
<p>A shocked kiteboarder has accidentally collided with a humpback whale off the coast of California.</p>
<p>Incredible footage shows Andrei Grigoriev's close encounter with the huge mammal in the waters off Crissy Field Beach on June 18.</p>
<p>The video starts with the extreme sports enthusiast gliding innocently across the ocean before his board skims right over the back of a rising humpback whale.</p>
<p>The video shows the Californian resident spread his arm in stunned amazement.</p>

<p>"I was going straight out from the beach when something touched my board from below," he explained.</p>
<p>"For another 15 seconds I had a feeling there was something around me, until the whale jumped out of the water right in front of me.</p>
<p>"The scene was completely accidental."</p>
