A plane passenger has shocked even the most organised travellers after admitting that he gets to the airport six hours before his flight departs. Self-described anxious traveller Tim Murray slammed those who have a laxed attitude to an airport arrival time, boldly stating it's their own fault if they miss their flight. “It's not my fault you're late to your flight, so if you're behind me in the security line being like: ‘I gotta get past you I'm late’ you need to manage your time better”' he declared in a short clip posted to TikTok. “I get to the airport six-and-a-half hours before my flight,” he stated, admitting his “extreme anxiety” does play a role in getting there early. “And I wanna sit here and vibe at the airport Chili's with a waitress named Debra who has the most amazing smoker's voice you've ever heard and stories that will last six-and-a-half hours,” he joked. In a comment, Tim admitted that he may have over-exaggerated the six hours, but still saying he gets to the airport several hours early. While Tim seemed smug in bragging about his early arrival, many users pointed out that there are external factors that play into people's travel plans. “People need to remember it's not always the person's fault. If my plane is late that could cause me to miss my connection, no matter how early I was. This has happened to me a few times,” one person pointed out. “Have mercy on us international flyers who need to do immigration baggage claim and run to connecting flight after our first flight was delayed,” another complained. “Dude some people are connections because their flight was late, or stuck in a long customs lines… so many other reasons than being just late,” they pointed out. King Charles' $97k arrival gift slammed as "waste of money"

King Charles and Queen Camilla are set for a lavish welcome to commemorate their first visit since 2018, but taxpayers are not impressed with the massive cost. The sails of the Sydney Opera House will be illuminated from 8pm on Friday for four minutes with images from previous royal visits intended to show the "diverse ways in which Their Majesties have engaged with and celebrated NSW and Australia over the years." “We are lighting up the Sydney Opera House to warmly welcome The King and Queen to our beautiful harbour city," Premier Chris Minns said in a statement. "The photo projection on the Opera House sails celebrates a historic moment - The King’s first visit to NSW as Sovereign - and is a fitting tribute." The gesture does not come cheap, costing taxpayers an estimated $97,030, and many were unhappy about it. "Cannot support wasting our taxes on people who wouldn’t be here if we didn’t pay," one person wrote on Facebook. "At a time when rents are sky high ...more and more homeless.. Hospitals are overcrowded...Food and petrol prices are ridiculous...Do you really think it excites battling Aussies...having money spent this way?" another person asked. "How many homeless could be housed with the money spent on a visit by millionaires, paid by us?" another wrote. "Waste of money! Channel the funds to the needy. King who with the horse?!," another remarked. However, there were a few others who expressed their excitement about the royal visit. "I will definitely head in with the kids to see this," one wrote. "As a monarchist, yes I'm going there to warmly welcome them," another commented. "Can’t wait for their majesties arrival," a third added. Royal fans will have a chance to meet or see the monarchs, as they plant to engage with members of the public on the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on October 22nd at 4.20pm. Their appearance will be followed by a Fleet Review on Sydney Harbour, featuring an Australian Defence Force fly past. David Koch has shared the happy news that his tribe of grandchildren has grown by one, posting a photo of his 9th grandchild. Kochie announced the safe arrival of baby girl Heidi, who is the first child of his daughter Georgie and her husband Alex. The former Sunrise host posted a photo of the moment his wife Libby met the new arrival for the first time in London, as his friends and colleagues shared their congratulations. “When Libby meets Heidi… grandchild #9… in London for the first time. First child for Georgie and Alex,” he wrote alongside the image. Former colleague Melissa Doyle commented, "Just gorgeous 😍", while Seven sports reporter Mark Beretta added, "Congratulations and what a beautiful moment!!👏". Fans also shared their congratulations to Kochie, celebrating the happy news of his latest grandchild’s arrival. “Congratulations to you all,” one wrote, while another said, “Gorgeous photo. So precious!” Kochie first shared the news of his growing family when Georgie was halfway through her pregnancy with Heidi, telling The Morning Show hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies that he and Libby were planning a trip to London to partake in a family tradition. Clint Eastwood's youngest daughter, Morgan Eastwood, has welcomed her first child with husband Tanner Koopmans. The 27-year-old revealed that she'd given birth to a daughter named Cleo two weeks ago in an Instagram post shared over the weekend. "Two weeks with our Cleo," she captioned the post with a series of photos, giving fans their first look at her adorable baby girl. In the first photo, baby Cleo was swaddled in a blanket with a small smile on her face as she slept in the hospital crib. Another photo showed the new parents smiling down at their beautiful bub as they enjoyed a seaside stroll as a family. She included a few other shots of baby Cleo at home with her, Tanner and their beloved bulldog. Family and fans were quick to congratulate the couple. Mother dies after ambulance fails to arrive

A mother from Queensland has tragically died while waiting for an ambulance, after she called 000 complaining of chest pain. Cath Groom called paramedics just before 10:30pm on Friday after growing increasingly concerned about persistent chest pain, but was left waiting more than an hour and a half for the ambulance to arrive. Given the nature of Groom's symptoms, her case was deemed urgent, and she should've been tended to by paramedics within 15 minutes. It is believed that Cath was found dead by her teenage son while still waiting for the ambulance to arrive, the day before her 52nd birthday. Her friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to the “amazing mother” and to express their “deepest shock, grief and sadness” at the news of her sudden passing. “She was and will always be my favourite human on this earth, I loved her to bits we were like a brother and sister I’m going to be lost without her,” one person wrote. “What an absolute shock. Such a beautiful girl taken way too soon,” another said. Ms Groom had long been a single mum after she was left to raise her son on her own after her husband died when the boy was just a baby. “Rest In Peace Sis, may you rest easy now with Dad and your life’s love and husband Warren,” her sister wrote on social media. The shock death has renewed calls for the Queensland and federal government to address ambulance delays, with Australian Medical Association Queensland president Dr Maria Boulton saying the state’s healthcare system is “not good enough”. “This is what happens because the system is under such strain, we know that our healthcare workers do the best they can in a system that is completely broken,” she told the Today Show. “This is not on them but it also affects them because they don’t want to lose any lives.” Image credits: Facebook

"Touchdown": Count Nikolai arrives in Sydney to begin studies

Denmark's Count Nikolai has arrived in Sydney where he is set to begin a new chapter at the University of Technology (UTS) in Ultimo. Just one day before commencing his studies, the 23-year-old royal explored the city and took to his Instagram stories to share a photo of the iconic Sydney Tower Eye, in the CBD. "Touch down," he captioned the photo. The young royal and his girlfriend Benedikte Thoustrup are both enrolled in UTS, where they'll commence their studies for one semester. The pair are in Sydney as part of Copenhagen Business School's study abroad exchange program and they are both working towards their Master's Degree, with Nikolai studying Sales Management. Thoustrup is studying economics and business administration, specifically in brand and communications management. The course is expected to begin from today, August 1 and runs until the 30th of November. Just last week, Nikolai, who is the grandson of Queen Margrethe II shared that he was "stoked to begin and super excited" about moving to Australia. "The choice fell on Australia because it is very foreign for a Dane like me," he told Numéro magazine. Why King Charles III arrived late to his coronation

The reason why King Charles III was late to his own coronation has been revealed, with a military source attributing His Majesty’s tardiness to horse troubles. Six Windsor Greys were carefully selected to pull the Diamond Jubilee State Coach to transport King Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla, 75, from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey on May 6. Their names are Echo, Haven, Knightsbridge, Milford, Shadow and Tyrone. The source told The Telegraph in the UK that the dress rehearsal for the journey took place in the middle of the night when the horses were "quite sleepy and took their time.” "But on the day of the Coronation, they were wide awake and consequently went a lot faster than they had in the practice. That's what threw the timings out," they continued. As the royals arrived at the Abbey, viewers saw a visibly irritated Charles demanding an explanation. Initially, the delay was blamed on the Prince and Princess of Wales who were scheduled to arrive at Westminster Abbey before the monarch but rather arrived a few minutes after. A lip reader told The Guardian that the King muttered, "we can never be on time" and "there's always something”. The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived with their children Princess Charlotte, eight and Prince Louis, five. They were left to join the back of the procession to the altar of the abbey. There had been suggestions they were delayed by filming behind-the-scenes footage of their preparations, which was later posted on social media, but that is allegedly false. Prince George, nine, acted as Page of Honour for his grandfather at the coronation and performed his duties diligently. King Charles, Prince William and Prince George later posed for a “line of succession” portrait. Stewart said Sydneysiders can expect an influx of the hungry insects in coming weeks, as conditions ripen for even more of the pests. "We are hearing from farmers if you work outside, they get on your hair, up your nose, they bite them through their hats even," she said. "Unfortunately, we are told they are going to head to Sydney to the coast, over the coming weeks." A groom has been blasted online for his "disrespectful" decision to be carried into his wedding ceremony in a coffin, which was hoisted up to the altar by his future wife's bridesmaids. The unnamed groom's bizarre entrance was captured on video by a wedding guest, as the man was carted up the aisle at his outdoor ceremony in a black casket, with two bridesmaids leading the eerie procession, while being helped by several groomsmen. Rafael Nadal celebrates the arrival of his baby boy

Beloved tennis superstar Rafael Nadal has become a father for the first time. Wife Mery Perello has given birth to a baby boy. Spanish media said Perello, known as “Xisco” gave birth in a clinic on the island of Mallorca where the family currently reside. Nadal and Perello tied the knot in 2019 after being together for many years, with Nadal hinting time and time again about becoming a father. He never confirmed an expected arrival date. Nadal’s PR firm said they will not comment on his personal affairs, when asked by The Associated Press. Novak Djokovic was quoted as congratulating Nadal following a match in Kazakhstan. “Congrats! I didn’t know. Really?” the Serbian said. “It’s a beautiful news. I wish his wife and baby a lot of health and happiness. “As a father, I’m not gonna give any advice to him. He has a big family. I’m sure he will experience himself.” Nadal had broken the silence regarding his personal life, when he addressed rumours about the impending arrival date at Wimbledon. “If everything goes well, I’m going to be a father,” Nadal said in Mallorca. “I’m not used to talking about my private life. Stunning scenes as the Queen arrives home for the final time

As Queen Elizabeth returned home to Buckingham Palace for the final time, thousands of well wishers congregated to pay their respects to Her Majesty. Her coffin had taken days to travel from Balmoral in Scotland where she died, to London's Buckingham Palace, as mourners cheered and clapped in the rain for the late monarch as the hearse travelled around the Queen Victoria memorial before entering the gates of the palace. Outriders stopped with their heads bowed at the end of the journey, while a police officer at the gate saluted. People also cheered "hip hip hooray" after the coffin drove under the arch, with many putting down their umbrellas as a sign of respect. Others could be seen wiping tears from their eyes as phone camera lights lit up the crowds lining the streets in central London. The royal family began the procession, as King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle waited in the Grand Entrance of the palace for the Queen's final return. For one night the coffin, which is draped in the Royal Standard flag, will lie at rest in the palace's Bow Room. Then, the monarch is handed to the nation to allow the public to pay their respects when she lies in state at the ancient Westminster Hall for four days until Monday September 19th - the day of her state funeral at Westminster Abbey and burial at St George's Chapel in Windsor. "Last great journey": Queen’s coffin arrives in Edinburgh

Queen Elizabeth II's coffin arrived in Edinburgh on Sunday following a six-hour journey from her summer home in the Scottish Highlands. Her solemn arrival was greeted by thousands of people at the city's Royal Mile; Her Majesty's body will remain there for two days to allow people to pay their final respects. The queen's daughter Anne and her sons, Princes Andrew and Edward, curtsied and bowed as the coffin was carried inside by soldiers from the Royal Regiment of Scotland. This is just ahead of the Queen’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey in London on September 19. “Very sad”: Prince Harry arrives 90 minutes too late

In the wake of the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, it has emerged that Prince Harry missed seeing his grandmother one last time by mere hours. What needs to be done before cruises arrive

The return of cruises is high on most people’s bucket lists (or relaxing lists) as they head back to Australia’s shores in May. After a two-year ban on all cruises due to Covid, the government lifted the ban and all ships are set to sail! The industry pumps an eye-watering $5 billion and will help more than 18,000 get a job. But before they set sail, there are quite a few things that need to be sorted. Rehiring staff and shopping Graeme Blackman of Inter-Marine said workers who were laid off due to the pandemic should look forward to being rehired. His tools which were used to ensure everything was working need to also be checked due to being idle for two years. The Inter-Marine lost almost 90 per cent of its $7 million turnover during the ban. "It'll be a slow, progressive start but we're so glad we could last this long." Steven Biviano, from Sydney Select Fresh Providores, is required to ensure the ship is stocked with all ingredients on offer for the delicious meals. Before the pandemic hit, Steven was delivering 40-semi trailers of fruit and vegetables to cruise ships. Then his team of 30 was cut to just three people which he said will now change. "(I'll be) getting a team re-established, speaking to growers, agents," he told Nine News. Jeremy Goodman, Supply Chain Director for P&O Cruises Australia, will then ensure all products needed are on board. The first cruise will require: 4,500 dozen eggs, 15 tonnes of fresh vegetables and 6.5 tonnes of poultry. "When Pacific Explorer resumes cruising on May 31, more than 300 pallets of products of various kinds will be delivered," he said. "Each pallet weighs around 500k kilograms so that is around 50 tonnes of fresh produce." Cooking up dishes The delicious meals that will be prepped and cooked with the products will be created by P&O Cruises Australia Corporate Executive Chef Uwe Stiefel. Chef Uwe has been practicing new dishes in his Sydney restaurant and said it will be interesting to see what people enjoy after almost two years of takeaway food. Entertainment P&O Cruises Australia's Head of Entertainment Brett Annable and Corporate Entertainment Director, Zoltina-J Medwik Dale have been busy recruiting entertainers to welcome aboard passengers. "We are about to welcome our first production show cast into rehearsals for their debut at the end of May and we are putting the finishing touches to our brand-new production show, 'Musicology', which is launching later this year on Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure," Brett said. Covid-19 rules Cruising is set to be different thanks to covid with new protocols put in place to ensure the safety of all staff and customers. All passengers must be fully vaccinated before jumping on a cruise, with Covid tests to be mandatory before departing as well as another test done while on board. Cruise lines will have their own rules when it comes to wearing masks but will most likely have the rule in place where social distancing isn’t possible. Staff will however be required to wear masks except for outside on the deck and will be trained with Covid protocols. The delicious buffets are still on offer but will be served by staff from behind screens to help stop the spread of the disease. All mealtimes will also be staggered for passengers to ensure social distancing is in place First cruise to leave P&O’s Pacific Explorer will be the first cruise ship to start its journey leaving from Sydney on May 31 for a relaxing four night voyage to Brisbane. McDonald’s announces arrival of Cadbury Dairy Milk McFlurry

McDonald’s Australia has announced the arrival of an all-new dessert item - the McFlurry with Cadbury Dairy Milk. Macca’s and Cadbury have teamed up to offer the exciting menu addition for a limited time. Featuring soft serve mixed with dairy milk chocolate flakes and sauce, the new McFlurry has been described as “the ultimate treat worth melting for”. The sweet creation will be available exclusively via UberEats from March 30th for one week. It will then land in Macca’s restaurants nationwide on April 6th. McDonald’s Australia Senior Brand Manager Liz Whitbread said the fast food giant was excited to offer the new dessert to Macca’s fans. “There’s nothing quite like the iconic Macca’s soft serve and the smooth and creamy taste of Cadbury chocolate,” she said. “With Cadbury celebrating 100 years in Australia, we are excited to bring together two iconic brands to create the perfect dessert or afternoon treat”. Nigella Lawson is set to visit Down Under and make her appearance at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival in March.The cooking sensation will treat foodies to the stay during the festival’s first weekend, which runs from 25 March to 9 April 2022.Among her appearances will be an in conversation with former MasterChef co-host Matt Preston during a three-course lunch on Sunday, March 27.Major Events Minister Martin Pakula said the festival’s return after two years of lockdowns is something for Melbourne to celebrate.“Melbourne is famous for its culinary scene and we support the festival because it brings people into our city to taste the best of what’s on offer,” he said.“And that means more jobs in our local hospitality industry.”The festival begins when the World’s Longest Lunch returns to Treasury Gardens on Friday 25 March, which will be led by renowned chef, Ben Shewry of Attica.The World’s Longest Brunch will take place on Sunday the 26th of March with a Middle Eastern menu.The 2022 program also includes a family-friendly pasta fair, and a rock ’n’ roll celebration of plant-based eating and drinking, a gathering of city’s best snacks.

The 65-year-old posted on Instagram to share the happy news, revealing his son AJ and wife Carolina had welcomed their first child, a daughter named Catalina May Koch, together on Thursday. The news came just three weeks after Kochie welcomed his 7th grandchild, after his eldest daughter Samantha gave birth to a baby girl name Florence May Brown. ‘Our little Mexican burrito has arrived. Congratulations to Pepe and Laura on their first grandchild,’ Kochie continued: ‘Our cultural diversity is one of the things I love about our country. It has enriched my family.’ 'P.S if you’re thinking "hasn’t he just had a new grandchild" you’re right,' the post continued. 'Florence was born 3 weeks ago... it is going to be so much fun watching these two cousins grow together.' Kochie also shared a picture of himself and his wife Libby holding little Catalina and Florence, captioning the image: 'When Cali met Florrie. How blessed we are to have two little granddaughters born within three weeks of each other. 'Watching these cousins grow is going to be fun. Great to have Cali home… and to top of a great day her other grandparents, Pepe and Laura from Guadalajara, received their Visa to come for Christmas.' He met his granddaughter Ella in December 2020, eight months after his daughter Brianna and partner CJ Jayasinghe welcomed the baby girl in Perth. Like many Australian families, the doting grandfather was unable to visit his sixth grandchild sooner because of the COVID-19 travel restrictions. He previously got emotional while interviewing his daughter as she held her precious little girl live on Sunrise. The day finally came when Kochie and wife Libby, who are based in Sydney, picked up their West Australian relatives from the airport ahead of Christmas. “When Poppy met Ella,” he captioned an adorable set of photos on Instagram.

The Packed To The Rafters reboot has arrived

That’s right - Australia's favourite family are back and you can catch up with all of them by watching the new season of Back To The Rafters on Amazon Prime Video. You can take a look at the trailer here which gives you a taste for what's in store for our beloved Rafters with the return of the series. The new series will show us what’s happening with Julie (Rebecca Gibney) and Dave Rafter (Erik Thomson) and their loveable, if sometimes complicated, children. When last we left off, Dave and Julie had sold the family home to pay off Grandpa Ted's (Michael Caton) gambling debt. They decided to turn lemons into lemonade, so they hit the road in their green kombi van to travel around Australia with their late-in-life baby, Ruby. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/moQ4N4Ogm7E" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen=""></iframe> So, where are they now, six years later? In a new trailer, we catch our first glimpse of what the family are up to. But it's not looking completely rosy, Julie and Dave have settled outside of Sydney in the quaint country town of Buradeena. A brief return to the city unveils a whole host of problems in their family and Julie realises she wants to return to Sydney to help her children with their troubles. In one tense scene, Julie is seen telling her husband she wants to "move back" while he asks her to stay. In another, the pair are seen arguing in front of Ben's house, with Julie tearfully telling him: "We're drifting, Dave." Could there be trouble brewing just when the couple are about to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary? In the meantime, Nathan (Angus McLaren) still seems to be struggling to have the life he's always wanted. He's living in Sydney with his son Edward (Kaspar Frost), from his previous marriage to Saskia (Lauren Clair). "My life has just fallen apart mum," the single dad tearfully tells Julie in one scene. Ben (Hugh Sheridan) is happily married to a new character, Cassie (Haiha Le), and hoping to start his own family. However, the trailer hints at baby dramas, with the couple seen fighting over children and their future together. Rachel, formerly played by Jessica Marais and now played by Georgina Haig, briefly appears in the trailer. However, we're yet to see what's in store for her as she’s now living in New York and leads what seems like a secretive life. As the years have gone by, Ruby is now played by Willow Speers and we see her maturing into a young girl. "One stage of growing up, is realising your parents are just as vulnerable as you," her mother tells her in the trailer. While some things have changed, others remain same. Carbo (George Houvardas) is back and living the dream as a social media influencer. Donna (Merridy Eastman) is working with Ben and she's as flustered as she ever was by all of his shenanigans. Thankfully, the family is still celebrating all of their milestone moments at the Shanghai Express. A woman's hilarious airport mistake results in her arriving VERY early for her flight

A young woman has shared the hilarious moment when she realised she had made a huge mistake at an airport. Model Alexia Portmann arrived at a deserted airport to board her 6am flight, when she realised she was a year early upon trying to check in. She took to TikTok to share her debacle, posting a video of herself with her packed suitcase sitting outside a baron airport terminal. "They did this to us as well, on the website it sneakily says 2022 on the calendar and not 2021," they wrote.
