Joel Creasey announces exciting personal news on air

<p>Radio host Joel Creasey has shared the exciting news that he and his partner are now engaged after being together for seven years.</p> <p>Creasey announced the news on his Instagram, also sharing the news with his co-hosts of the <em>Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel radio show</em> on Nova, recalling how his boyfriend, Jack Stratton-Smith, had surprised him with the proposal on their final night in Monopoli, southern Italy.</p> <p>“Well, you asked what happened on my trip to Italy … I did get engaged to the love of my life after seven and a half years,” Creasey told his co-hosts and listeners on Monday.</p> <p>“He finally popped the question! It was very last-minute, it was the day before we left, actually … It was just on a little rooftop and we had a couple of friends there, and I had no idea. <p>Gordon Ramsay's daughter, Holly, has announced her engagement to British Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty. </p> <p>The 24-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the happy news, showing off her sparkly ring with a photo of the pair on holiday. </p> <p>"I am marrying my best friend," the fashion designer said.</p> <p>"I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you.</p> <p>"Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. <p>Stephanie Rice has announced her engagement to her boyfriend Mark Lassey after just seven months of dating </p> <p>The three-time Australian Olympic gold medallist took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm the news, just weeks after first going public with her relationship in July. </p> <p>She shared a series of photos of the moment the father-of-three popped the question at Dubai's luxury Atlantis The Royal hotel.</p> <p>"Here's to fresh starts and second chances," Rice said in the caption. </p> <p>"Yes to a lifetime with you," she continued, adding the bible verse Psalm 37:4 underneath it.</p> <p>In one photo the couple looked lovingly at each other as Rice showed off her diamond ring. </p> <p>The former Olympic swimmer looked glamorous in a white floral dress and strappy heels during the picture-perfect outdoor hotel proposal. </p> <p>Lassey looked dapper in a white shirt, cream trousers and a black blazer. </p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; "I think I knew for years": Andy Lee spills on proposal

<p>In their first photoshoot and interview as an engaged couple, Andy Lee and Rebecca Harding have revealed how the sweet proposal unfolded. </p> <p>The couple are the cover stars on this week's <em>Stellar</em> magazine and featured as guests on the <em>Something To Talk About</em> podcast. </p> <p>In the interview, Andy explained that he'd known "for a long time" that he wanted to marry his girlfriend of 10 years. </p> <p>“I think six, maybe to eight months [beforehand] was when I really started thinking about it. I think I knew for years. Then getting the ring, and hoping Bec liked it – that would have been the most nerve-racking part. And getting her there on time to the actual proposal,” he said.</p> <p>Andy popped the question in May, and proposed at the couple's home in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn. </p> <p>He recalled how Rebecca was running late on the day and kept him anxiously waiting for more than an hour before she showed up. </p> <p>“It doesn’t matter. The important thing is, we went home together,” she told the publication. </p> <p>While their proposal was nothing glamorous, it had sentimental value, as he handed her a napkin asking for her hand in marriage, a callback to their first meeting when she was working as a waitress at a Melbourne cafe and he wrote his number on a napkin for her. </p> <p>“It was just happiness,” Rebecca said of the proposal.</p> <p>“It’s such a nice feeling to know someone has gone and put all of this effort into something, to ask you to spend the rest of your life with them. I mean, we’d been dating for 10 years, so I kind of was like, maybe getting married is not for us. “Greedy” woman slammed after being “disappointed” with engagement ring

<p dir="ltr">A woman has been dubbed “ungrateful” and “greedy” online after sharing a lengthy post about how she was “pretty disappointed” with the ring her boyfriend proposed with. </p> <p dir="ltr">The bride-to-be took to Facebook to say that while she still loves her fiancé, she was upset at being given a lab-made diamond as opposed to a natural one. </p> <p dir="ltr">“I'm not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed, especially since my future husband has enough income to afford a real diamond,” she said in the lengthy post. </p> <p dir="ltr">She also confessed to feeling like “a spoiled brat for complaining”, but went on to compare how her fiancé was previously engaged to another woman and proposed with a ring costing more than $75,000, so the cheaper diamond left her feeling “second best”. </p> <p dir="ltr">The woman’s post was met with ridicule online, as thousands of people commented on her post to express their disbelief. </p> <p dir="ltr">One person quipped, “I require my diamonds to be exploitative.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“People sure do get upset when their diamonds aren't the result of human rights abuses and environmental destruction, huh,” another said, slamming the woman's “entitled attitude”. </p> <p dir="ltr">Another woman was quick to agree that the bride-to-be's “greedy” disappointment was in bad taste.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Carbon is carbon,” another person said, referring to the material that diamonds are made of, whether from the ground or in a lab. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Such a weird hill to die on! Woman shares fury after unknowingly paying for her engagement ring

<p dir="ltr">A new wife has shared her fury after she discovered her husband had been paying off her engagement ring from their joint bank account. </p> <p dir="ltr">The 28-year-old woman was overjoyed when her partner proposed to her with an $8,000 two-carat lab diamond ring, which he bought on a payment plan because he “didn’t have the funds available” when he bought it. </p> <p dir="ltr">The couple got married just three months later at the courthouse after they realised they could not afford a big, fancy wedding. </p> <p dir="ltr">After their big day, the new wife was shocked and annoyed when she discovered she had “unintentionally partially paid for two instalments”, which now makes her a “part owner of the ring”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I found out after we married and merged our finances that he has been withdrawing funds from our joint account — we make roughly the same — to finance this ring,” the furious woman shared in a Reddit thread.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We have been having some arguments lately and he feels that the ring is a wedding expense and it’s only fair that I contribute towards it too, and that as a woman of this day I shouldn’t hesitate to be an equal partner.”</p> <p dir="ltr">She took particular issue with her husband for making her pay her share on what was supposed to be a gift from him.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I was just taken aback and honestly put off by the fact he is making me pay for a gift he gave to me. You don’t make the recipient of a gift pay for the damn gift,” she said.</p> <p dir="ltr">The woman said if she had known her husband was going to make her pay for the ring, she wouldn’t have agreed to “buy it”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Mutual consent is essential when a couple is deciding to invest in an asset. Owning a house or a car jointly requires two ‘yeses’ and I wouldn’t certainly have said yes to jointly owning a ring he was supposed to give to me as a gift,” she explained.</p> <p dir="ltr">Although the woman admitted that she had asked her partner for a “nice” ring before he proposed, saying that she “deserved a quality piece symbolising our love”, she said she wished her partner talked to her about the big expense before signing her up for payments. </p> <p dir="ltr">“My then-fiancé knew about the expectation I had of him and was upfront about things from the get go,” she explained.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He could’ve discussed things with me and we could’ve seen if we were truly compatible like that. What I didn’t know was that he was plotting to ‘get even’ with me by taking out a payment plan and using our funds to finance it.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“I don’t mind splurging for him, but this whole situation has left a very bad taste in my mouth.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Now she’s demanding her husband return her engagement ring to the jewellery store because she refuses to pay for it.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Reddit post has racked up thousands of comments, with some people jumping to the woman’s defence. </p> <p dir="ltr">One person wrote, “I’d be livid if I found out I was diamond poor instead of house poor.”</p> <p dir="ltr">However, not everyone thought the wife’s actions were justified, with one person writing, “You’re married, there is no ‘my money’ and ‘his money’. <p>Andy Lee has announced his engagement to Rebecca Harding after almost 10 years together. </p> <p>Host of <em>The Hundred with Andy Lee </em>shared the news live on-air with his co-host Hamish Blake in the latest episode of the <em>Hamish & Andy</em> podcast. </p> <p>"I asked Bec to marry me on Sunday," Andy announced six minutes into the podcast. </p> <p>With Bec on the line, co-host Hamish Blake jokingly asked: “Is it a bit quick? Young WA cop dies at his own engagement party

<p>A Western Australian police officer has tragically passed away following a freak accident at his own engagement party. </p> <p>Senior Constable Liam Trimmer, 29, and his fiancee had gathered with family and friends to celebrate their upcoming marriage, when Trimmer fell and cut a carotid artery in his neck, leading him to bleed out.</p> <p>While they did everything they could to save him and provide first aid, Trimmer tragically passed away before paramedics arrived. </p> <p>"Everything was done to try and save him but it wasn't to be and I know everyone that was involved are really, really hurting. I think they wish they could just wake up from this nightmare," Commissioner Col Blanch told <em>9News</em>. </p> <p>"This extraordinary officer loved helping the community and was a fine example of WA policing and it's just such a tragedy.</p> <p>"(He was) a very, very confident, capable young man with his whole life ahead of him, and that's how sad this is."</p> <p>The senior constable moved to Australia from the UK in 2013 and graduated from Joondalup Police Academy that same year. </p> <p>He then moved to Kalgoorlie in 2017 where he joined the Gang Crime Squad and the tactical response group.</p> <p>The police union have also paid tribute to the senior constable.</p> <p>"Every time a death occurs for a police officer, it doesn't matter how it really does rock the core of the Blue family," WA Police Union President Paul Gale said.</p> <p>The welfare and safety division will provide support to those impacted by this tragedy and police will prepare a report for the coroner. </p> <p><em>Images: 9News</em></p>

Jeweller shares the cost of Albo's custom engagement ring

<p>A jewellery expert has shared the estimated cost of the custom diamond ring Anthony Albanese bought to propose to his long-term partner Jodie Haydon. </p> <p>The Prime Minister shared the heart-warming news of the engagement on Valentine's Day, sharing a loved up snap of the happy couple, as Jodie showed off her ring. </p> <p>Albo revealed he chose Nicola Cerrone’s Leichhardt-based Cerrone Jewellers store to design the diamond ring before popping the question.</p> <p>Now, a different NSW jeweller has shared their estimated cost of the impressive diamond, telling NCA NewsWire the ring could be worth up to $240,000. </p> <p>The jeweller, who wished to remain anonymous, admitted diamonds are incredibly varied in terms of pricing depending on colour, cut and clarity and difficult to evaluate from an image, but they confirmed Mr Albanese didn’t appear to spare any expense. </p> <p>“This looks to be roughly a 3ct Round Brilliant Cut Diamond on an 18ct Rose Gold Band,” the jeweller said.</p> <p>“The ring is a four prong solitaire with a slightly wider band - definitely a very popular style at the moment!”</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; <p>Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced his engagement to partner Jodie Haydon on social media. </p> <p>Albanese shared a selfie with Haydon to X - formerly known as Twitter - on Thursday morning with the caption: "she said yes" followed by a red love heart emoji. </p> <p>The post has already received 1800 likes and many comments congratulating the couple on their happy news. </p> <p> “Love is a beautiful thing. <p>Sam Kerr has finally confirmed her engagement with Kristie Mewis. </p> <p>The Matildas captain took to Instagram to share her proposal pictures over two months after the couple's rumoured secret engagement. </p> <p>"September 1st, 2023," she captioned the photos, with a white love heart. </p> <p>The first photo showed Kerr down on one knee as she proposed to Mewis. <p dir="ltr">Actress Talulah Riley has announced that she is engaged to former child star Thomas Brodie-Sangster after two years together.</p> <p dir="ltr">She revealed the news in a tweet with a photo of the couple cuddled up under a blanket and the caption: "Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and I are engaged!"</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Pride and Prejudice</em> actress, 37, and the <em>Love Actually </em>star, 33, first met during the filming of their TV series <em>Pistol </em>where they also played a couple. </p> <p>Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to his ex-wife's happy news with a simple: "Congratulations!"</p> <p>Elon's sister Tosca also replied with "Congratulations, Talulah" and a red heart emoji. </p> <p>Fans took to the comments on Twitter to congratulate the couple. </p> <p>"Congratulations! I wish the couple much happiness," wrote one fan. </p> <p>"Love conquers all. When you find love, hold on to it and never let it go. Very good news," wrote another. </p> <p>"Congratulations. Happy for you!" commented a third. </p> <p>"Congratulations, great couple!" wrote a fourth with two red heart emojis. </p> <p>The couple were rumoured to be together in 2021, but they didn't confirm their relationship until the following when they arrived arm-in-arm at the Gala Dinner for the 2022 <em>British Academy Film Awards</em>. </p> <p>Riley was previously married to Elon Musk, 52, twice before her relationship with Brodie-Sangster. </p> <p>Their first marriage was in 2010 after a 10-day whirlwind romance, which lasted for two years.
