<p>Rod Stewart has started the new year with some heartwarming news, as he welcomes his fourth grandchild. </p> <p>The rock star's son, Liam Stewart and his wife Nicole, who already share 21-month-old son Louie together, took to Instagram on Monday to introduce the latest addition to their family - an adorable baby girl. </p> <p>“Elsie Skylar Stewart. "Overflowing with love": Fergie celebrates newest grandchild

<p>Sarah Ferguson has welcomed her fourth grandchild with the arrival of Princess Beatrice's second daughter. </p> <p>The Duchess of York shared a sweet photo of the new baby to Instagram, introducing the tiny tot and sharing her name. </p> <p>"Overflowing with love and joy to be able to welcome Athena Elizabeth Rose into the world," Fergie wrote. </p> <p>"She is already so adored and I'm incredibly blessed to be a Granny once again. So proud of Edo, Beatrice and the rest of my little 5-a-side team!"</p> <p>Proud new dad Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who took to the sweet snap of the camera-shy bub covering her face in her oversized onesie, commented on the post.</p> <p>"The best Gigi," he wrote, referring to what Fergie's grandkids call her.</p> <p>Edoardo also shared a post of the new baby, saying their family is "already completely besotted with her."</p> <p>He added, "A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time."</p> <p>Beatrice and Edoardo welcomed their first child, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, on September 18th 2021, who is now three. John Farnham to become a grandfather for the first time

<p>John Farnham is set to become a grandfather for the first time. </p> <p>On Thursday, the legendary singer's son James took to Instagram to announce that his partner Tessa is pregnant with a baby boy due later this year. </p> <p>The clip showed James setting alight a burn away cake with the words "coming 2025" inscribed on it. The inscription peeled away to reveal the word "Boy", confirming that the couple are having a son. </p> <p>He also shared a photo of an ultrasound of their unborn baby's hand, with the caption: "Coming 2025! Tessa, I love you so much!"</p> <p>James' celebrity friends were quick to congratulate the couple's joyous baby news. </p> <p>"Congratulations guys. Great news to kick off the year," wrote <em>Sunrise </em>weatherman Sam Mac's fiancée Rebecca James.</p> <p>"Ahhhhhhh this is the best ever! So happy for you guys," added Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson.</p> <p>"Yeah wooohooo, so happy for you both. Congratulations to the coolest parents," wrote one person. </p> <p>"Woohoo! The following year, he was declared cancer free following multiple surgeries and eight weeks of radiation therapy. </p> <p>However, the beloved singer later shared that the life-saving surgery has left him unable to sing. </p> <p>“My facial disfigurement from the surgery means I can’t open my mouth wide enough for a strip of spaghetti, let alone to sing,” Farnham said in an excerpt from his memoir published by the <em>Sydney Morning Herald</em>.</p> <p>“I can’t get the movement to make the sounds I want to make, that’s where the vibrations and my voice come from. It’s a very disconcerting thing. And trying hurts.”</p> <p>Despite the challenges, the legendary singer hopes that he will be able to perform again one day. </p> <p>“I was given a gift and to be able to get out there and affect people in some way was special, I would like to continue doing that,” he said.</p> <p>“Though I am not putting all my hopes into it, we’ll see.”</p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

"So precious!" Kochie celebrates arrival of his 9th grandchild

<p>David Koch has shared the happy news that his tribe of grandchildren has grown by one, posting a photo of his 9th grandchild.</p> <p>Kochie announced the safe arrival of baby girl Heidi, who is the first child of his daughter Georgie and her husband Alex. </p> <p>The former <em>Sunrise</em> host posted a photo of the moment his wife Libby met the new arrival for the first time in London, as his friends and colleagues shared their congratulations. </p> <p>“When Libby meets Heidi… grandchild #9… in London for the first time. First child for Georgie and Alex,” he wrote alongside the image. </p> <p>Former colleague Melissa Doyle commented, "Just gorgeous 😍", while Seven sports reporter Mark Beretta added, "Congratulations and what a beautiful moment!!👏".</p> <p>Fans also shared their congratulations to Kochie, celebrating the happy news of his latest grandchild’s arrival.</p> <p>“Congratulations to you all,” one wrote, while another said, “Gorgeous photo. So precious!”</p> <p>Kochie first shared the news of his growing family when Georgie was halfway through her pregnancy with Heidi, telling <em>The Morning Show</em> hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies that he and Libby were planning a trip to London to partake in a family tradition. </p> <p>"We have a family tradition, we buy the first pram for each of the families. (We're) very excited. It's number nine for us," he said in April.</p> <p>Heidi is David's ninth grandchild, as his three eldest children have eight kids between them.</p> <p>His son AJ welcomed his first child - a daughter called Catalina May - with his wife Carolina in 2021.</p> <p>The little one was born weeks after Samantha welcomed a daughter called Florence May with her partner Toby. Mick Jagger welcomes new grandchild

<p>Mick Jagger has become a grandpa again as his 32-year-old daughter, Georgia May, welcomed her first baby with boyfriend Cambryan Sedlick. </p> <p>"Our Son Dean Lee Jagger Sedlick was born September 30th," she announced on Instagram with a series of polaroid photos of the pair and their bub. </p> <p>"We are so in Love and happy and can't stop staring at him."</p> <p>Georgia first announced she was pregnant in June, sharing photos of her baby bump to Instagram.</p> <p>She also thanked her boyfriend for "being so incredible through everything and taking such good care of us".</p> <p>The photo was flooded with congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities including from <em>Daisy Jones & The Six</em> actress Suki Waterhouse and Meadow Walker, daughter of the late <em>Fast and Furious</em> actor Paul Walker.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; Grandma gives birth to her own grandchild

<p dir="ltr">While it might be her fifth time welcoming a grandchild, the way this US woman has done so is a first for her and her family.</p> <p dir="ltr">Nancy Hauck gave birth to her granddaughter Hannah last week, according to the <em>New York Post</em>, and did so for a special reason.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 56-year-old from Utah offered to be a surrogate for her son Jeff and his wife Cambria after her daughter-in-law experienced a traumatic birth and underwent a life-saving hysterectomy.</p> <p dir="ltr">Speaking to <a href="https://people.com/human-interest/utah-grandmother-gives-birth-son-daughter-in-law-baby-feeling-so-blessed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>People</em></a> magazine, Ms Hauck said giving birth to her granddaughter “went perfectly” and that they are feeling “so blessed to have her in our family”.</p> <p dir="ltr">She said the nine-hour labour was a “remarkable and spiritual experience”, but admitted to feeling “some sadness” since the birth.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Even though I know that the baby’s going to my son, I know there’ll be a little bit of that empty feeling,” she said.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-8b8cb539-7fff-98da-9dd5-146942999604"></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Now, the grandmother plans to take a break from work and write a book about her experience.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; Woman welcomes 100th great-grandchild ahead of her 100th birthday

<p dir="ltr">A 99-year-old woman has celebrated her 100th birthday early, with the arrival of her 100th great-grandchild. </p> <p dir="ltr">Marguerite Koller, from Pennsylvania in the US, will be celebrating becoming a centenarian in the coming months. </p> <p dir="ltr">However, Marguerite and her family are marking the occasion early with the birth of her 100th great-grandchild, Koller William, named after her late husband. </p> <p dir="ltr">“I'm just thinking how lucky I am,” Marguerite told <a href="https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/montgomery-county-woman-100th-great-grandchild/3331133/">NBC Philadelphia</a> as she held the newest addition to the family, which also includes 11 children and 56 grandchildren.</p> <p dir="ltr">She makes the effort to be there for every baptism and graduation, her family has said in the past, and “has created an amazing legacy spanning through generations,” her granddaughter, Christine Balster, told the local news station.</p> <p dir="ltr">However, Marguerite’s large family almost didn’t happen, as she planned to join a convent and become a nun. </p> <p dir="ltr">She applied to join the local convent when she was a junior in high school, she told <a href="https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/montgomery-county-woman-100th-great-grandchild/3331133/">6 ABC</a> back in 2015, but by the early 1940s, she met William Koller, who she said “talked me out of it.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The couple then welcomed their first child in the Baby Boom after World War II, when Marguerite knew she wanted to have a large family.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I wanted to have a big family. I think it's difficult being an only child — it's lonely.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The couple went on to have 11 children over the span of almost 20 years. </p> <p dir="ltr">Their kids then had a total of 56 grandchildren, who are now the parents of 100 great-grandchildren. </p> <p dir="ltr">She has since credited that big family with keeping her active, and making her feel blessed every holiday even after her husband died in 2008.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It worked out beautifully,” she said.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image credits: Youtube - NBC Philadelphia</em></p>

Australian woman gives birth to own grandchild

<p dir="ltr">54-year-old Tasmanian woman Maree Arnold has given birth to her own grandson after acting as a surrogate for her 28-year-old daughter Meagan White.</p> <p dir="ltr">Meagan has no uterus and was unable to conceive, so her mum suggested the idea of acting as a gestational carrier. Meagan was diagnosed with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome at the age of 17 after not menstruating during puberty. MRKH is a rare disorder that affects one in 5000 women, and the syndrome means that while Meagan has no uterus, she does have working ovaries, so she is able to have a biological child with the help of a surrogate.</p> <p dir="ltr">The baby, named Winston, was safely delivered following a short two-hour labour on January 13th. Ms Arnold told<span> </span><em>Sunrise</em>, “We arrived at the hospital at 7 am and by 9 am he was born, it was so quick and organised.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I feel really well considering it’s only been a week, so it’s amazing.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Arnold, who had previously appeared on<span> </span><em>Sunrise<span> </span></em>last year while pregnant, told Kochie and Nat, “If I had my time again, I would do the same thing, it worked out perfectly.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Ms White said she was loving being a first-time mum to Winston, who is “not giving us too much grief” and sleeping well. Of his birth, she said, “It’s hard to describe the feeling of when he was born. It was definitely a pinching myself moment.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Experts say mother-daughter surrogacy is very rare and it’s recommended that gestational carriers are under 40 years of age. However, another older mum, 51-year-old Julie Loving from Chicago,<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.oprahdaily.com/life/relationships-love/a33013266/mother-becomes-surrogate-for-daughter/" target="_blank">made headlines</a><span> </span>in 2020 after carrying her daughter’s baby.</p> <p dir="ltr">Loving volunteered after watching her daughter Breanna Lockwood struggle with fertility issues for four years. The family welcomed a daughter, Briar, in November 2020, with Lockwood writing on Instagram, “My mom was an absolute rockstar through a difficult delivery. The sacrifices she took to bring this little slice of heaven into our world takes my breath away. Holding my daughter in my arms my heart is bursting. AGAIN! Kochie welcomes arrival of another grandchild

Congratulations to Pepe and Laura on their first grandchild,’ Kochie continued: ‘Our cultural diversity is one of the things I love about our country. It has enriched my family.’</p> <p>'P.S if you’re thinking "hasn’t he just had a new grandchild" you’re right,' the post continued. 'Florence was born 3 weeks ago... it is going to be so much fun watching these two cousins grow together.'</p> <p>Kochie also shared a picture of himself and his wife Libby holding little Catalina and Florence, captioning the image: 'When Cali met Florrie. He met his granddaughter Ella in December 2020, eight months after his daughter Brianna and partner CJ Jayasinghe welcomed the baby girl in Perth.</p> <p>Like many Australian families, the doting grandfather was unable to visit his sixth grandchild sooner because of the COVID-19 travel restrictions.</p> <p>He previously got emotional while interviewing his daughter as she held her precious little girl live on Sunrise.</p> <p>The day finally came when Kochie and wife Libby, who are based in Sydney, picked up their West Australian relatives from the airport ahead of Christmas.</p> <p>“When Poppy met Ella,” he captioned an adorable set of photos on Instagram.</p>

Who inherited Prince Philip's prized possessions?

<p>Prince Philip has left his prized ponies to his granddaughter Lady Louise, who shares his passion for carriage driving.</p> <p>Lady Louise who is the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie Countess of Wessex, was taught the sport by her late grandfather.</p> <p>The Duke of Edinburgh was seen watching Louise as she placed third and the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2019.</p> <p>Philip's prized green carriage and two of his beloved ponies, Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm, made an appearance at his funeral on Sunday.</p> <p>The Duke began carriage driving after retiring from polo at 50 due to an arthritic wrist.</p> <p>The sport was one of the Duke's greatest passions, with the royal even drafting the official rules for international horse carriage riding competitions.</p> <p>In a guidebook he wrote about the sport, Philip said: "I am getting old, my reactions are getting slower, and my memory is unreliable, but I have never lost the sheer pleasure of driving a team through the British countryside."</p> <p>Lady Louise will care for and exercise Philip's black ponies as part of her inheritance.</p> <p>Speaking to The Sun, the teenager had become the Queen's "favourite grandchild" after spending time with her grandparents at their holiday home in Balmoral.</p> <p>Photo: Getty</p>

Major warning signs your grandchild is a bully

<p>With one out of every four children getting bullied, it's a growing epidemic. But what if your child is the bully? Experts share the signs that indicate your child might be the one causing the trouble.</p> <p><strong>They justify bad behaviour</strong></p> <p>Bullies may attempt to shift blame to the victim rather than themselves. Licensed professional counsellor Jay Clark says a behaviour that tends to correlate with bullying is when a child fails to recognise their actions may be contributing to a problem. Emotions may quickly escalate in intensity in a child with bullying tendencies, and they feel justified in treating another child badly. They may feel the other child ‘has it coming’.</p> <p><strong>They have friends who act aggressively</strong></p> <p>Children who bully often don’t have a shortage of friends. In reality, they usually have a large network of friends and a smaller, intimate group that encourages bullying behaviour, according to the Pacer Centre. No parent wants to find out their child is ill-behaved towards other students. However, if your child’s friends are mean towards other kids, or if they engage in some other type of bullying, your child might be participating in bullying as well.</p> <p><strong>They have difficulty sleeping</strong></p> <p>A 2011 study by the University of Michigan, published in the <em>Sleep Medicine</em> journal, revealed children with aggressive or bullying tendencies were twice as likely to exhibit sleep-disordered breathing problems like snoring or daytime sleepiness. While this study doesn’t prove sleep disorders actually cause bullying, it does show a possible link between sleep problems and contentious behaviour. A lack of sleep impairs mood and decision-making. If you think your child has sleep issues, a visit to the doctor might be a beneficial step to curb potential bullying.</p> <p><strong>They get in trouble at school</strong></p> <p>When Tori Cody received a call from the assistant director of her son’s preschool telling her she needed to talk to her son because he was “messing” with another boy, she felt shocked, saddened and embarrassed. “How could my four-year-old be a bully?” she asked. Realising she needed to take his aggressive behaviour seriously, she sprang into action. She began frequent talks with her son challenging him to consider how he would feel if someone behaved towards him in the same manner he behaved towards his classmate. Though it’s a work in progress, Cody has seen an improvement in her son’s actions at school.</p> <p><strong>They have behavioural problems</strong></p> <p>“Certain behaviours, if elevated, tend to correlate with bullying,” says Clark. Children who are hot-tempered, easily frustrated, impulsive, prone to fighting, and lack empathy towards others have a higher risk of being bullies. Some children may even brag about handling conflict by fighting.</p> <p><strong>They live in a violent home</strong></p> <p>If a child is in a home where they’re seeing violence, or they too are victims of violent behaviour, they are more likely to react violently in pressure situations. Frustration builds up in kids who experience violence, Clark says. When an explosion of anger is modelled in the home, similarly, they might be inclined to take out their own anger on other children.</p> <p><strong>They have experienced bullying first-hand</strong></p> <p>Occasionally, children who have been the target of bullying will become bullies in an effort to regain some control over their lives. This was the case for Mischa van Loder, whose seven-year-old daughter began getting in trouble after she was the victim. Van Loder credits encouraging her daughter into friendship groups with positive role models as a key to curtailing her daughter’s behaviour. “Parental presence is everything in this situation,” she says. “Without support, love and lots of investigation, the problem is difficult to solve.”</p> <p><strong>They act aggressively towards their siblings</strong></p> <p>Clark suggests if you have more than one child, monitor how they’re treating the other siblings. If they display aggression towards their siblings, it’s likely they may also demonstrate aggression towards their peers.</p> <p><strong>They spend a lot of time online</strong></p> <p>With cyberbullying on the rise, Clark cautions parents to monitor their child’s internet use. There’s a level of anonymity that occurs online, allowing children to say things they might not otherwise say to another child face-to-face.</p> <p><strong>They’re intolerant towards children who are different</strong></p> <p>Licensed clinical social worker Carmen Berzinski says some children she works with show a lack of ability or willingness to accept kids who are different (diverse ethnic backgrounds, gender, disabilities, sexual orientation, etc). In an attempt to exert some control over these differences, a bully might engage in name-calling, sending harsh messages via text or social media, and fighting. For parents, Berzinki has this advice, “Nurture empathy and create opportunities for your child to do good. Bert and Patti Newton's joy as sixth grandchild arrives early

It has been a long journey and we are so thrilled to have gorgeous Alby here safely.
