Farmer Wants a Wife star breaks silence after split

Farmer Wants a Wife fan favourite Farmer Andrew has confirmed his split from Claire Saunders after the pair cancelled their upcoming wedding.

The pair, who met each other on the 2023 season of the show, initially shared that their wedding had been postponed in July for “reasons out of our control”.

On Monday, Andrew confirmed that the relationship ended in a lengthy Instagram post.

“It feels the right time to share what’s been happening in my life on the farm and beyond,” he began.

“For someone who’s more used to being surrounded by sheep and nature than the buzz of social media, this is a bit out of the box. But here goes.”

He explained that a few years ago he wanted to share the farm life with "someone special" so he decided to sign up for the show.

“I never imagined meeting such an amazing group of women, each with their own spirit and story. It was exciting and humbling, reminding me of how important love and connection are,” he said.

“Amidst it all, one extraordinary woman captured my heart, and we decided to give it a shot.

“We moved in together, dreaming of a future where our love would grown alongside the farm. It was fast-paced, passionate and fun.

He continued saying that life had other plans for them and despite their love and effort, "sometimes things just don’t work out."

“Living together brought its own challenges, and we realised our paths weren’t meant to stay intertwined.”

He said that while it was "sad" the relationship had to end, they gave it their all.

“Though it didn’t lead us where we hoped, it helped us grow. It’s been a huge outlay of heart and soul. And while it’s painful to walk away, we’ve both emerged stronger, wiser, and more attuned to what really matters.”

He then went on to thank his family, friends and followers who helped him through tough times, and shared his plan going forward.

“As I move forward, I’m choosing to celebrate the love we shared, the lessons learned, and the strength gained.

“No regrets, just gratitude. Now, it’s time to dive back into farm life. here’s never a dull moment with the challenges, adventures and pleasures that come from living and working on the land, and I look forward to sharing this journey, hoping we can all find inspiration," he ended the post.

The former couple announced their engagement in March 2021, after Claire moved to Andrew's farm in Narromine, regional NSW.

Images: Instagram

"Heartbroken and blindsided": The Beast's ex-girlfriend opens up about split

The ex-girlfriend of The Chase star Mark Labbett, also known as The Beast, has opened up about her high-profile break-up with the TV star, slamming his behaviour in the last weeks of their relationship.

Hayley Palmer, an entertainment news presenter, announced her split from Labbett just days after their one year anniversary, sharing the news on Instagram in May.

Now, in an interview with The Sun newspaper, Palmer took aim at Labbett and his alleged handling of their split, saying she had been “blindsided” by their break-up, and shared how he had lived up to his name as The Beast.

“It has come as a complete shock. I thought we were really happy,” she said.

“I’m heartbroken and blindsided. His behaviour has been beastly.”

Palmer went on to say that Labbett dumped her over a callous three-minute phone call, and said their breakup came because The Beast did not want to formally divorce his ex-wife Katie, who is also his second cousin.

She went on to say that before their shock split, Mark — who has a seven-year-old son with his former wife — had even suggested they move in together.

But in the days following, a phone call came from Labbett to end their relationship.

Struggling to hold back tears, Hayley told the publication, “The call started off as a normal conversation. He was spending time with his son and we’d had a conversation about me joining them at a water park."

“Then he said, ‘I don’t know how to tell you this, but you were right. I don’t want to divorce my ex-wife’.

“The shock of the way he said it was so brutally cold and not the Mark I know. I thought he was a gentle giant, so this was the complete opposite. He was as cold as ice."

“The phone went from my hands, I just hung up on him. I ended up walking around for three hours not knowing where I was going."

“I’ll never get over the shock of that, I’m still in shock now. It’s such a hurtful way to do it. The fact that he didn’t have the respect for me, and for him to do it over the phone — it was a really low move."

Downton Abbey star's shock split

Hugh Bonneville, famous for his role in Downton Abbey, has parted ways with his wife, Lucinda "Lulu" Williams, after 25 years of marriage. This revelation came shortly after Bonneville attended a co-star's wedding without his wedding ring.

A spokesperson for the actor confirmed the separation, stating, "I can confirm that Hugh Bonneville and Lulu Williams have separated," as reported by the UK Sun.

Sources close to the situation reveal that the decision to split was initiated by Bonneville himself. Williams reportedly felt that their lengthy 25-year marriage had been devalued, given Bonneville's recent focus on various aspects of his life.

The source explained, "Hugh has been away from home filming a lot this year. He has lost a bit of weight this summer, he was looking trim, tanned and relaxed."

Signs of trouble in their relationship first emerged when the 59-year-old actor attended the wedding of his Downton Abbey co-star, Michelle Dockery, without his wedding ring and without Lulu.

Their last public appearance together dates back to April when they attended a gala at the Old Vic Theatre in London.

Bonneville had previously praised his estranged wife, referring to her as his "bedrock" and "anchor", according to the UK Sun. He humorously recounted their initial connection, saying, "Lulu was running a marquee company … my mother rang her to hire some chairs or something and said, 'Do you remember Hugh?' and that was how we reconnected," though he jokingly added that it "infuriated" him that he had to "give full credit" to his mother.

To commemorate their 20th anniversary, the couple renewed their vows at the Graceland chapel in Las Vegas just five years ago. Bonneville and Williams initially met as teenagers but didn't embark on a romantic relationship until their 30s. They exchanged their vows in November 1998 and share a son, Felix, who is now 20 years old.

Images: Instagram

New theory in Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness split

News of Hugh Jackman and Deborah-Lee Furness’ split after 27 years of marriage shocked the world, and now celebrity experts are sharing their theories.

US broadcaster Cooper Lawrence shared her theory in an interview with Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington on Monday morning.

Lawrence claimed that the couple were waiting for their two adopted children Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, to grow old enough before they had an amicable split.

“I think [Jackman and Furness] were waiting until the kids were old enough that they could have an amicable split and not worry about child custody or how much everybody is going to pay each other,” she told the Sunrise hosts.

She added that child custody battles are what make high-profile divorces “messy”, which could explain the timing of the divorce.

“They don’t have to worry about that because the kids are older, so now they can just split their multi-millions and all their properties, which is a lot.”

The couple have properties in New York, Sydney and The Hamptons.

Lawrence added that the rumour mill began spinning on “the Broadway scene” sometime last year after the couple sold their three-storey New York apartment.

“For a while on the Broadway scene there was a rumour there might be something going on in that marriage and people were like, ‘This is kind of odd,’ but as soon as they sold their three-floor apartment... and downsized and then shipped a bunch of furniture home to Sydney, it was like ‘What’s really going on here?’” she said.

She added that while celebrity splits are nothing new, some fans have taken it harder than others because some celebrities make them believe in true love.

“Every time there was a think piece about Hollywood couples that made us believe in love, (Jackman and Furness) were always at the top of the list,” Lawrence explained.

“They are always talking about each other and they were the ‘it couple’ for anybody that’s a little older than their younger spouse.

“They were role models for everything in relationships.”

Fans aren't the only ones devastated by the divorce. The Wolverine actor broke his silence the day after their separation statement went public, and shared that it was "a difficult time.'

Image: Getty/Kevin Mazur/WireImage

Hugh Jackman "devastated" after marriage split

Hugh Jackman has publicly addressed his recent separation for the first time since the news surfaced on Friday September 15. Photographed while running errands in the streets of New York, Jackman's ring finger conspicuously lacked a wedding ring. When approached by a photographer about the breakup, he declined to delve into details, simply stating, "It doesn't feel quite right talking about it on the street."

The 54-year-old actor did, however, acknowledge the challenging situation with a brief remark, saying, "It's a difficult time," before courteously smiling at the photographer and resuming his errands.

His appearance comes in the wake of reports indicating that he was profoundly affected by his split from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-lee Furness. However, some sources suggest that the separation had been a long time coming.

The New York Post's Page Six section cited a source close to Jackman who said that he is “devastated” by the split and that he is “very sad".

An insider from Broadway, where Jackman returned for "The Music Man" in February 2022, revealed that the breakup wasn't a recent development, sharing, "It happened a while ago. Friends and family knew about it."

They added that there was no involvement of a third party and that the couple had gradually evolved into more like "roommates"

The announcement of their separation came as a shock to their worldwide fanbase. The couple shared their decision to part ways through a statement released via People magazine, expressing their gratitude for nearly three decades of marriage and explaining their choice to separate in pursuit of individual growth. The statement concluded by requesting privacy during this transitional phase in their lives.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the statement read. “Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

Jackman and Furness then added that “our family has been and always will be our highest priority” as “we undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness”.

“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives,” the statement continued before they signed off as “Deb and Hugh Jackman”.

“This is the sole statement either of us will make,” the pair concluded.

Jackman and Furness first crossed paths while working together on the Australian miniseries Correlli in 1995. Jackman, who had previously described their connection as love at first sight, knew he wanted to marry Furness just weeks after meeting her. They tied the knot on April 11, 1996.

Their journey together included overcoming miscarriages and embarking on an IVF journey before deciding to adopt. In 2000, they welcomed their son, Oscar, into their family, followed by the adoption of their daughter, Ava, five years later.

Jackman had often openly expressed his deep affection for Furness throughout their marriage. Shortly before the news of their separation emerged, he shared a heartfelt message on Instagram celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary, professing his enduring love and admiration for his wife.

In a recent development, Furness was spotted without her wedding ring just days before the news of their separation became public.

Images: Instagram

For women and those with lower education, the years of healthy life expectancy have gone backwards.

The report, led by statistician Dr Kim Kiely who is now based at The University of Wollongong, compared representative cohorts of people aged 50-100 who participated in the Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia survey (HILDA). Those cohorts were measured over decade long periods – the first from 2001-2010 and the second from 2011-2020.

Men added an extra 11 months of healthy life between the cohorts, while women lost a month. Similarly those of any gender who had completed year 12 added about 10 months to their healthy life expectancy, while the same amount of time was lost by those who hadn’t.

“Everyone’s increasing their working life expectancy, so the years they’re expected to be working,” Kiely says. “What is different is how long they’re expected to be living in good health: women and people with low education didn’t have an improvement in healthy life expectancy.

“Everyone’s also living longer than ever before, but for women, those extra years seem to be years of poor health. People with lower education – they end up going backwards, they’re losing years of healthy life.”

Australia’s working life trends are similar to those in Europe and the UK, though this research suggests the Australian labour force works longer in poor health than their antipodean counterparts.

Kiely says the findings are important considerations for policymakers pondering questions of retirement and pension ages: the demands of some labour may not be evenly spread when it comes to considering health implications.

“We have a pension age that has been rising steadily over the past couple of decades – it’s not rising anymore – but there is a strong expectation for people to be working longer,” Kiely says. “And if that is the case, then we need opportunities for work for mature age, older adults, and those work opportunities have to be suitable for their capacity to work.

“We do need to address things like age and gender discrimination in the workforce. And we need to think about how we support people who are unable to work before they reach the pension age.”

Kiely is extending his research into how the nature of work in Australia influences these high-level findings. He hopes this can explain why gender and education influence healthy working years.

Further drilling down into other subgroups is important, say Dr Marty Lynch and Dr Ross Wilkie from Keele University, UK. They investigated healthy working life expectancy as part of Britain’s Independent State Pension Age Review last year. They too found Briton were working longer, but not at a rate that keeps pace with the national pension age.

In a Lancet editorial accompanying the Australian research, they point out that the HILDA data evaluation only shows changes in average ages on gender and education lines.

“The extent of HWLE [Healthy Working Life Expectancy] inequalities between subpopulations with multiple specific characteristics are likely to be even wider and will also indicate targets and interventions to increase the number of years that people can be healthy and in work,” they say.

The impact of socioeconomic status on life expectancy and disease burden was recently highlighted in a large-scale review of Australia’s 30-year health data.

It found while Australians have added 6 years to their life expectancy since 1990, those with lower socioeconomic backgrounds had a higher risk of death-causing disease.

This article was originally published on Cosmos Magazine and was written by Cosmos.

Bombshell twist in split between Australia's richest couple

Just days after announcing their separation, there has been a bombshell twist in the split between Australia's richest couple Andrew and Nicola Forrest.

The couple, who were married for 31 years and have a shared fortune of $32 billion, confirmed their separation in a joint statement on Wednesday after living apart for months.

During those months apart, it has been revealed that Andrew's own mining company investigated allegations he had a secret relationship with an employee.

The board of Mr Forrest's company Fortescue Metals Group became aware of an anonymous letter that made allegations against the mining billionaire while the Forrests were figuring out their separation.

The board contacted an outside law firm to investigate claims made in the letter about the behaviour of the executive chairman towards a lower level employee.

The Australian Financial Review reported the investigation included a review of whether he had a relationship with an employee at the mining company, with the investigation concluding that the allegations were unsubstantiated.

"The directors of Fortescue became aware of an anonymous letter concerning the behaviour of the executive chairman," Fortescue Metals said in a statement.

"The board immediately met and engaged Seyfarth Shaw LLP, to independently investigate the letter and provide a report. Seyfarth Shaw LLP provided a full report to the board."

"The investigation concluded that none of the matters in the letter were substantiated. There were no adverse findings."

It added that Mr Forrest was excluded from the investigation as "it related to him".

Fortescue went on to say that the report in full would not be released to shareholders or to the public.

The revelations the investigation emerged just days after Andrew and Nicola announced their separation.

"After 31 years of marriage, we have made the decision to live apart," the couple said in a joint statement.

"Our friendship and commitment to our family remains strong."

Want an easy $400 a year? Ditch the gas heater in your home for an electric split system

Earlier this month, regulators flagged power price rises in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Like many people, you’re probably wondering how you can minimise the financial pain.

Getting rid of gas and electrifying everything in your home can save you money. Modelling by not-for-profit organisation Renew showed annual bills last year for a seven-star all-electric home with solar power were between 69% (Western Sydney) and 83% (Hobart) cheaper than bills for a three-star home with gas appliances and no solar.

There are other reasons to kick the gas habit, too. As renewables form an ever-growing part of Australia’s energy mix, electrifying the home increasingly helps tackle climate change. What’s more, there are sound health reasons to get rid of gas appliances.

But where do you start? And how do you get the best bang for your buck? Here, I offer a few tips.

A quick guide to home energy use

Australian home energy use can be separated into a few categories:

space heating and cooling

water heating

cooking

vehicles

other appliances (many of which are largely already electric).

Of the appliances that typically depend on gas, the largest component (37%) is space heating, followed by hot water (24%) and cooking (6%).

This varies between states. Victoria, for example, is particularly dependent on gas.

But the breakdown above gives some insight into the largest contributors to energy costs in the average Australian home – particularly in the cooler southern regions.

While both gas and electricity costs are rising, as they are now in most states, all-electric homes can expect lower overall increases. Analysis by Renew has shown ditching the old gas heater in favour of a split system/reverse cycle air-conditioner (without solar panels) can lead to average savings of A$546 each year in Canberra, $440 in Adelaide, $409 in Melbourne and $256 in Perth.

Heating a space with a reverse-cycle air conditioner is about four times more efficient than using natural gas. And when the electricity is generated by renewables, it can be done with zero greenhouse gas emissions.

And what about heating water? Using the existing electricity grid, the cost of using an electric heat pump is around half that of using a natural gas water heater.

The costs fall even lower if a household shifts to solar panels subsidised or financed by government, backed by a home battery providing the energy. In this case, heating costs are around a third of using gas.

So what’s the payback?

Buying new appliances costs money. So it’s important to examine the “payback” period - in other words, the length of time it takes for energy bill savings to equal the cost of the initial investment in a new appliance.

The payback period can vary depending on:

cost and quality of the appliance

an appliance’s energy rating

size of the system

for space heating, whether a split system is replacing an existing ducted system or being added on externally.

A report last year by the Climate Council calculated the approximate cost differences between higher and lower-end electric appliances. Lower-end hot water heat pumps, reverse-cycle air conditioner and induction stoves were priced around $7,818 all together, while higher-end appliances cost around $14,936 together.

Both scenarios included installation costs and $3,000 for electrical upgrades and other costs.

The payback period for low-priced appliances ranged from five years in Hobart and Canberra to 15 years in Perth and Sydney. Higher-priced appliances were in the order of eight to ten years for most cities and 12, 16 and 19 years for Melbourne, Perth and Sydney respectively.

Rolled out at scale, household electrification is also a feasible way to reduce gas demand. It may be the only practical option available to decarbonise residential energy.

As research recently suggested, so-called “green” hydrogen – made by using low-carbon electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen – is unlikely to emerge as a cheap replacement for gas boilers. And why look for a technological solution to a problem we already know how to solve?

Modelling by Environment Victoria has shown installing heat pumps for heating and cooling would reduce statewide gas use by 48 petajoules a year, compared to the relatively minimal 0.5 petajoules saved by installing induction cooktops.

At the same scale – and using a similar technology – replacing gas hot water with heat pump hot water reduces household gas use by 10 petajoules each year. That’s an enormous saving of gas.

The bigger picture for all-electric homes

Existing homes can benefit from a combination of electrification, rooftop solar and batteries. They can also benefit from energy efficiency measures such as installing insulation, stopping draughts, closing off rooms and wearing the right clothing for the season.

We can work together to speed up the transition to renewable energy and reduce the demand for gas.

This article originally appeared on The Conversation.

Nation split over Lidia Thorpe’s Mardi Gras protest

Australians everywhere, from TV personalities to politicians and the public, have seized the opportunity to weigh in on Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe’s decision to temporarily halt Sydney’s 2023 Mardi Gras parade.

Thorpe, who parted ways with the Greens party early in February, was - in her own words - protesting for “#NoPrideInGenocide, #NoPrideInPrisons, and #NoCopsInPride” when her actions caught the attention of the gathered crowds, with footage uploaded to social media showing her on her back in front of a parade float.

In the clip, NSW police officers can be seen addressing Thorpe, and eventually she was moved on. Reports have stated that earlier, she could be seen walking backwards in front of an Australian Federal Police officer while waving a small rainbow flag.

A statement from NSW Police claimed she was removed “at the request of organisers for breaching the terms of her participation”. They have since confirmed that the senator was not arrested and will not be charged over the incident.

Lidia Thorpe gonna Lidia Thorpe. pic.twitter.com/879xXgA4LX

— Rita Panahi (@RitaPanahi) February 26, 2023

As with all acts deemed controversial by social media, the video blew up, and the story reached the eyes and ears of people all across the country.

Thorpe attempted to get ahead of the discussion and set the record straight, tweeting that she was proud to have joined the Pride in Protest with their No Pride in Genocide float, as “Black and brown trans women started the first pride march as a protest against police violence. Today, we still face violence from [the] police.”

Black and brown trans women started the first pride march as a protest against police violence. Today, we still face violence from police. Proud to have joined the #PrideInProtest float in Sydney to say #NoPrideInGenocide, #NoPrideInPrisons, and #NoCopsInPride

— Senator Lidia Thorpe (@SenatorThorpe) February 25, 2023

When Thorpe’s attendance was first announced, No Pride in Genocide’s spokesperson Mikhael Burnard stated that “the oppression of queer people and the oppression of Indigenous people and refugees are one and the same fight.”

And while many raced to Lidia’s comment section to declare her a “legend” for their movement, just as many have been loud about their distaste for the senator’s actions.

“Lidia Thorpe did the queerest thing out of anyone at that co-opted, corporatised, pinkwashed excuse for a Pride march, & it aligns with the sentiments/needs of the most vulnerable members of the LGBTIQA+ community - & marginalised communities at large,” wrote one supporter.

“God it's funny how people don't understand that the entire point of protest is to be disruptive,” tweeted another, “that's why it's effective. Lidia Thorpe could write a polite letter to the king of the police that will do nothing, or she can actually centre cops at pride as part of the conversation.”

“Rusted on supporters of Lidia Thorpe who said yesterday it was ‘important context’ that she stopped a ‘police float’ now say it doesn't matter which float she stopped after learning last night it was a float for youth mental health services,” wrote a critic.

And now, radio’s Ben Fordham and NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet have seen fit to offer their opinion. Notably, neither figure was in attendance at the Mardi Gras celebration, although Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made history with his march in support of Australia’s thriving LGBTQIA+ community.

2GB’s Ben Fordham labelled Lidia a “rogue”, calling her protest “a whole new low.”

“Once again she has proven she is unfit for public office,” Ben, who has never held a position in office himself, went on, “that’s the reality.”

The debate over having police officers at Pride events has been around for a long time, and many came to Lidia’s defence citing the history of police repression with the LGBTQIA+ community - including but not limited to police brutality towards organisers, advocates, and participants alike.

In New South Wales, where Mardi Gras was held this year with WorldPride, the failure of authorities to investigate murders of a homophobic nature across three decades is never far from the minds of many. Ben, however, had his own take on the matter.

“Even though you’ve got police officers who for decades now have been part of the Mardi Gras trying to send a message to the gay and lesbian community that they’re on their side,” he said, “Lidia Thorpe doesn’t want them there.”

“It’s just typical Lidia Thorpe. It’s a disgrace,” Premier Dominic Perrottet agreed.

“As a society, we need to respect different views and not just tolerate it, but celebrate different perspectives,” Perrottet went on as he continued to condemn Thorpe’s standpoint, “and what we see from Lidia Thorpe and the Greens is this negativity and worse than that, this divisive nature of their politics.”

Images: Twitter

Kylie Minogue’s new chapter after splitting with partner

Kylie Minogue and her boyfriend, magazine mogul Paul Solomons, have parted ways after five years together.

The decision comes just one year after Kylie returned to Australia and as the 54-year-old prepares for a world tour. The two were last spotted together last May on the ABBA Voyage’s red carpet.

“Kylie and Paul really tried to make things work,” a source told The Sun, “but ultimately the time difference was a killer. Paul couldn’t exactly nip to Melbourne for a long weekend whenever things got strained.”

While any reference to Paul has been removed from Kylie’s Instagram account, one picture of Kylie still features on his, and the source went on to add that Kylie and Paul are still friends.

The couple first crossed paths in 2018 when they were introduced by mutual friends. In 2021, COVID-19 forced them to spend nine months apart, with Paul in London and Kylie in Melbourne. As The Sun was told, “long distance isn’t easy for any couple.”

“Kylie initially wanted to keep the split quiet though,” the source confessed, “as she really does not want the narrative to be ‘poor, unlucky-in-love-Kylie’s heart breaks again’.”

Kylie’s first public relationship was with her Neighbours on-screen love interest, Jason Donovan. Three years after that, Kylie spent time with the late Michael Hutchence. Over the years since, Kylie has fallen for models and fellow artists alike, and most recently she was in a relationship with British actor Joshua Sasse in 2016. He was 28 years old at the time, and the pair split one year after announcing their engagement.

Dannii Minogue’s, Kylie’s younger sister, had to deny rumours of an engagement between Paul and Kylie in 2021. While appearing on Sunrise, she told the hosts, “there’s no news, but we absolutely adore him and they’re a divine couple.”

In February 2021, Kylie opened up about her relationship with Paul, at a time when their relationship seemed destined to last in a way that worked for them and their lifestyles, “what is difficult is explaining it, and I’m hovering around that right now because I don’t have a traditional set-up when it comes to my relationship.

I don’t have the white-picket-fence life. We are in a very good space and we cherish that right now. We use the term ‘fluid and pivoting’.”

Fans of the singer can rest assured that Kylie has a lot to look forward to in her life and career, with the source telling The Sun, “for now, Kylie has a new album to promote, and a world tour to get cracking with - she’s hugely excited about starting this new chapter in her life.”

Images: Getty

Mark Latham's cryptic reason for splitting from his wife

Mark Latham has shared the "unique circumstances" that have led to the demise of his second marriage.

The One Nation MP announced he has split form his wife Janine Lacy, with whom he shares two sons, in a cryptic Facebook post.

“In 2000 I married Janine and I thank her for the happy and loving years we shared together,” he said.

“But now it has ended (in rather unique circumstances).”

"My priority now is my love for and dedication to the best interests of my children."

“And moving on with my life and continued public service, particularly the forthcoming NSW election."

“I also wish Janine well. I will not be making any media comment on this matter.”

Mr Latham did not elaborate on what the "unique" aspects of his marriage breakdown included, as he thanked people for their support in the comments of the post.

One commenter said, "Circumstances happen for a reason which may not be clear at this moment in your life."

"Stay strong, focused and amicable through this tough time."

Fellow MP, Victorian Bernie Finn, kept things simple, saying, "All the best, Mark. Been there, done that. It's not easy."

In response, Mr Latham said, “It’s really nice that people care this way.”

“Please don’t worry, I’m fine and heading into Macquarie Street for the parliamentary week ahead.”

Janine, who is a magistrate in the NSW local court, had previously thanked her husband for his support as she pursued her demanding career, as Mark spent time at home caring for his sons when they were younger.

“Mark has always been an extraordinary supporter of my endeavours and my career,” she said.

Janine Lacy was Mr Latham's second wife, after he married his first wife, Gabrielle Gwyther, in 1991 before they separated in 1997.

I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”

This recent widely publicised breakup has only reinforced predictions made that the relationship wouldn't last much longer, after Camilla celebrated her 25th birthday in early June.

Of course the breakup sent social media into a frenzy as fans couldn’t wait to post jokes about the couple's "doomed" relationship.

One fan tweeted: "3 things are certain in life: - death, - taxes, - Leonardo Dicaprio breaking up with his girlfriend before her pre-frontal cortex has fully developed."

3 things are certain in life:
- death
- taxes
- leonardo dicaprio breaking up with his girlfriend before her pre-frontal cortex has fully developed https://t.co/5bw3uLWlQ3

— Erin Brockobić (@erinbrockobic) August 30, 2022

"Leonardo DiCaprio is actually dating all the under-25s he possibly can to spread the word about climate change to those who will be the most impacted," another user joked.

leonardo dicaprio is actually dating all the under-25s he possibly can to spread the word about climate change to those who will be the most impacted

— flamin nora (@katierpacker) August 31, 2022

A third added: "there's no phenomenon on this planet more reliable than leonardo dicaprio breaking up with his girl by age 25, the stats are breathtaking".

there's no phenomenon on this planet more reliable than leonardo dicaprio breaking up with his girl by age 25, the stats are breathtaking https://t.co/A9czRJo56Q

— no (@zedonarrival) August 30, 2022

Meanwhile, others have tried to figure out how DiCaprio might have ended the romance as one stated: "i need to know how leonardo dicaprio conducts these breakups. does he start picking fights months before they turn 25 to be less conspicuous?"

i need to know how leonardo dicaprio conducts these breakups. does he start picking fights months before they turn 25 to be less conspicuous? do they wake up on their birthday to a note that says “sorry i can’t don’t hate me” someone pls investigate

— megan (@weganmilliamson) August 30, 2022

Other A-list women DiCaprio has dated who were 25 or younger at the time of their relationships include Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell, Bar Refaeli, Nina Agdal and Gisele Bündchen, who he dated for six years.

What a complete Morrone!

Image: Twitter
