Russell Crowe lists harbourfront apartment for sale

<p>Russell Crowe looks set to bid farewell to his stunning harbourfront apartment in Sydney. </p> <p>Sources have confirmed the 60-year-old actor will sell his 1000sqm property "if the price is right". </p> <p>The <em>Gladiator</em> star has reportedly listed the apartment off-market with a price guide ranging from $42 million to $45 million, however McGrath Double Bay agents William Manning and Luke Hogan, who are in charge of selling the property have refused to comment. </p> <p>The waterfront property is located on Finger Wharf in the upscale Woolloomooloo area, just 2km from Sydney's CBD. </p> <p>Initially designed to accommodate four separate private apartments, the property features 11 bedrooms, and has its own 35-metre marina berth.</p> <p>The property itself is rare as the new owner will get the entire floor that's north-facing to themselves, with buyers reportedly "lining up" to take a look, according to<a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/news/russell-crowe-to-farewell-42m-wharf-apartment-if-price-is-right/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> realestate.com.au</a>. </p> <p>However, the new owner might also need to do a makeover of the residence before moving in as the actor hasn't renovated the property since buying it from Nutrimetrics founder Imelda Roche and her late husband, Bill Roche, in 2003. </p> <p>Crowe bought the lavish property for $14.35 million in 2003 and considered listing it for $25 million eight years ago. </p> <p>It was the highest priced apartment sale in Sydney at the time, and now prices for a penthouse at One Sydney Harbour in Barangaroo can go up from $140 million. </p> <p><em>Images: realestate.com.au/ Getty</em></p>

Bindi Irwin's glam hotel receives huge award

<p>A Queensland hotel owned by Bindi Irwin has been named the World's Best Nature Hotel for 2024. </p> <p>The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, located in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast, was given the honour at the Boutique Hotel Club Awards, which features the finest boutique hotels from across the world. </p> <p>Winners were announced across 18 categories, with 500-vetted nominees from 80 countries globally. </p> <p>The Crocodile Hunter Lodge is named after Bindi's father, the late Steve Irwin, who as known as the original Crocodile hunter capturing the attention of audiences worldwide. </p> <p>Judges commented that the property "really feels like you're entering into relaxation mode."</p> <p>Speaking of the huge win, Bindi said she and her team were "honoured" to receive the recognition for  their commitment to an exceptional guest experience.</p> <p>"These awards showcase our dedication to providing extraordinary accommodation at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, where guests can immerse themselves in the natural world, allowing them to reconnect with nature and one another," she said.</p> <p>The Boutique Hotel Club's panel of experts hand-picked a selection of destinations all around the world. Terri Irwin's candid admissions on parenting and becoming a grandmother

<p>Terri Irwin has made a candid admission about her and Steve's unique parenting style, while revealing how much her granddaughter Grace is like her late husband. </p> <p>Chatting candidly to <em>Today</em> from inside Australia Zoo, Terri spoke about her daughter Bindi and son-in-law Chandler Powell, and how well they have taken to being parents. </p> <p>Bindi and Chandler welcomed baby girl Grace Warrior in 2021, with Terri sharing that the young girl is now the centre of their family. </p> <p>"It's so special to see Bindi and Chandler being such wonderful parents because they're so good at it," Terri said.</p> <p>"And I look at them and think, 'you know, you guys are so much better at this than Steve and I were - we'd be like, here's a stick and a rock kids, have fun', you know?"</p> <p>"And now everything in Grace's world is interactive and educational and they're just great with her."</p> <p>Terri said Grace is the perfect mix of both her mum and dad, and even though she never met him, Terri said there is also a hint of Steve in Grace's personality.</p> <p>"I remember talking to Steve's mother about what he was like when he was little and she said, 'if I couldn't find him, I'd just look up,'" Terri said.</p> <p>"And Grace is a bit like that, she loves everything like skateboards, playing ball, climbing a tree, she's a girl who will challenge boundaries but with wildlife, she's so careful and respectful."</p> <p><em>Image credits: The Today Show</em></p>

Prince William pops up in Robert Irwin's socials

<p>Prince William has made a surprise appearance on Robert Irwin's Instagram as the pair team up for an important award ceremony in South Africa. </p> <p>The Prince of Wales and the wildlife warrior posted a video from Cape Town as they take part in the annual Earthshot Prize Awards: an initiative founded by William, of which Irwin is an ambassador.</p> <p>“G’day, it’s Robert here, with, of course, Prince William,” Irwin began the video. “Lovely to see you. Bindi Irwin's sweet nickname for Robert revealed

<p>Anyone who grew up with siblings is all too familiar with the quirky yet endearing nicknames that seem to stick with us over time. </p> <p>For Robert Irwin, big sister Bindi was the first to give him a nickname, and the moment it happened was caught on camera. </p> <p>In a home video shared on TikTok, a young Bindi can be seen excitedly talking to her father, the late Steve Irwin. </p> <p>"I've got some news," Steve says in the clip. </p> <p>"We're not going home, we're going to the hospital... Mummy just had a baby. <p>Bindi Irwin has responded to claims that she photoshopped a series of photos featuring a red panda named Teddy and her three-year-old-daughter Grace. </p> <p>Earlier this month, the wildlife warrior shared the images of the red panda sitting on Grace's lap on social media with the caption: “Meet Teddy. The sweetest red panda with a true love for snack time. Robert Irwin hits back over nasty reports about mum

<p>Robert Irwin has hit back at the nasty comments about his close relationship with mum Terri Irwin. </p> <p>The wildlife conservationist appeared with<em> I’m A Celebrity...</em>  co-star Julia Morris on <em>The Kyle & Jackie O</em> show on Monday morning to discuss their Gold Logie nominations, when Kyle Sandilands expressed his surprise that Terri didn't join Robert in the studio for the interview. </p> <p>“Are you saying that the press reports are inaccurate that everywhere you go, your mother’s there?” Sandilands asked. </p> <p>“I hear it all the time but I don’t believe it’s even true.”</p> <p>Robert laughed and jokingly responded: “Who would’ve thought press reports are inaccurate?” </p> <p>But, co-host Julia Morris was quick to come to his defence. </p> <p>“Can I just address that because it drives me absolutely nuts,” she said on-air.</p> <p>“It takes all my strength not to go onto the internet and go absolutely spare every time [Robert and Terri headlines are] written. All I want you to do is every time you see that written that, you know, ‘Terri hangs around’, I want you to go directly to who’s written that story and know that that person hates their parents.”</p> <p>“If you’ve got parents that are as unbelievably awesome as Terri, and you have a great relationship, you want them to be around at all times,” she added.</p> <p>“If you’re trying to hide stuff from your parents, or your parents are constantly badgering or at you, then you don’t want them around and you can’t get why anyone would want their parents around, you know?” she concluded. </p> <p>Robert then chimed in and explained that people often don't understand his close relationship with his mother, and how they became especially tight as a family following Steve Irwin's death in 2006. </p> <p>“I think loss brings a family together like nothing else. People forget,” he said.</p> <p>“I think when we lost dad, our little tight knit family unit became incredibly tight.”</p> <p>“And we travel with the whole family everywhere most of the time. It’s nice.”</p> <p>This comes after a few <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/travel/international-travel/every-day-is-precious-fans-defend-robert-irwin-over-posts-with-mum" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trolls</a> criticised his close relationship to his mother during a trip to the US back in May. </p> <p>A few outlets have also suggested that the mother and son are unhealthily attached, but many fans have since defended their close relationship. </p> <p>“People saying why Robert has he’s mum in so many photos. Remember every day is precious. Life is fragile. Russell Hill's daughter shares her outrage over Greg Lynn's sentence

<p>Russell Hill's daughter has expressed her anger over the jury's verdict of former pilot Greg Lynn, who was found not guilty for Hill's murder. </p> <p>Greg Lynn faced a lengthy trial over the deaths of campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay, but after a week of jury deliberations, was only <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/finance/legal/shocking-verdict-in-trial-of-murdered-campers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found guilty</a> for the murder of Carol and was cleared of charges relating to Russell's death. </p> <p>Following the shock verdict, Hill's daughter Debbi, said she was “angry” at the jury and that she felt her father didn’t get the justice he deserved. </p> <p>“It’s new, we’ve only just found out, but the more I think about it, the more angry I get at the fact that it didn’t have to be this way,” Ms Hill told <em>60 Minutes</em> on Sunday. </p> <p>“My dad was not a violent person in any way. He wouldn’t have provoked anything.”</p> <p>Ms Hill went on to say that she thinks about what happened to her father every day. </p> <p>“I’m just really angry that he went camping that day, that time, that he is the person he is and he happened to be right there with my dad and Carol, and this is what happened,” she said. </p> <p>“I think it was just really bad luck for Dad and Carol that they were there at the time, but it wouldn’t have happened if he [Lynn] wasn’t such an awful person.”</p> <p>After the trial concluded, more information has come to light about Lynn's past after non-publication orders were lifted.</p> <p>His first wife Lisa Lynn, 34, was found dead in the front yard of her home in 1999, with a coroner’s report indicating a blood-alcohol level of 0.21 and high levels of anti-depression medication present in her system at the time of her death. </p> <p>No suicide note was ever found and Lynn was never charged over her death, however detectives are now looking to have the Victorian coroner conduct a full inquest into the 1999 death.</p> <p>Ms Hill said it was quite concerning to learn about Lynn’s history, saying, “I hope he doesn’t get away with this, but I’ve lost a bit of faith in the whole system.”</p> <p>“I’m not trusting of it now. "No disrespect": Home and Away star's swipe at Robert Irwin's Logie nomination

<p><em>Home and Away</em> veteran Lynne McGranger has taken a savage swipe at Robert Irwin, who has earned his first Gold Logie nomination. </p> <p>The young wildlife warrior is among a group of Aussie TV old-hands in the running for the 2024 Gold Logie, with the 20-year-old being the youngest male ever nominated for the award. </p> <p>Also battling it out for the Gold is Larry Emdur, Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Sonia Kruger, and ABC's Tony Armstrong.</p> <p>The nomination comes hot on the heels of Irwin's TV debut as co-host of <em>I'm A Celebrity... Get Me out of Here!</em> alongside Julia Morris, as he took over from Dr Chris Brown for the 2024 season. </p> <p>After Robert's nomination was announced, despite how well the new season of <em>I'm A Celeb</em> was received, many wondered how someone with so little TV experience could find himself in the running for the award. </p> <p>One of those skeptics was <em>Home and Away</em> actress Lynne McGranger, who made a cheeky swipe towards Robert when commenting in support of her Channel Seven colleague Larry Emdur who is up for the award for the first time.</p> <p>"I'm sorry but ol'mate Irwin has been on telly for a bloody minute!! Bindi Irwin to release children's book

<p>Bindi Irwin is releasing her debut children's book - and it involves her adorable three-year-old daughter, Grace Warrior. </p> <p>The wildlife warrior took to Instagram to share the news, saying: "Today is one of the very best days of my entire life."</p> <p>"I officially get to share with you my new children's book, <em>You Are a Wildlife Warrior!</em> Woohoo! Shocking verdict in trial of murdered campers

<p>The jury have been split during Greg Lynn's trial, where he was accused of murdering campers Carol Clay and Russell Hill in March 2020. </p> <p>The 57-year-old faced a five-week trial in the Supreme Court, in which he pleaded not guilty to both counts of murder.</p> <p>During the trial, Lynn said the deaths were accidental, and admitted to destroying their bodies and the crime scene. </p> <p>However, both prosecutors said he killed both of the campers intentionally and then tried to cover up his crimes. </p> <p>The 12 jurors began their deliberation on June 17th and emerged seven days later with a shocking verdict. </p> <p>Lynn was found guilty of the murder of Carol Clay but found innocent of killing Russell Hill in a startling decision. </p> <p>When asked for a verdict on Hill's murder, the jury's foreperson told the court today "not guilty", and when asked about the murder of Clay, the foreperson replied "guilty".</p> <p>Lynn was physically shocked by the verdict, raising his eyebrows and remaining silent after the two verdicts were read aloud.</p> <p>Justice Michael Croucher dismissed the jury before Lynn was taken back to prison, where he will await his sentence.</p> <p><em>Image credits: Nine</em></p>

Pauline Hanson responds to Robert Irwin's defamation claims

<p>Pauline Hanson's lawyers have slammed Robert Irwin's “nonsensical”, after he <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/finance/legal/robert-irwin-threatens-to-sue-pauline-hanson-over-defamatory-cartoon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">threatened to take legal action</a> against the politician over the latest controversial episode of her Youtube series <em>Please Explain</em>. </p> <p>The satirical cartoon, features Irwin's misadventures with Bluey as they attempt to promote a new tourism campaign for Queensland.</p> <p>In the video, their car was stolen by "juvenile delinquents" before Bluey falls into a giant pothole, and then they had to wait six months for healthcare. </p> <p>Irwin's lawyers alleged that the cartoon was defamatory and involved the “unauthorised and deceptive use of our client’s image”, and demanded them to remove it from social media by 5pm Monday. </p> <p>However, the politician has ignored their threats of taking legal action, with her lawyers responding that the video was a “satirical assessment of the various failings of the Queensland State Government”  and that it was not defamatory in any way. </p> <p>They said that the video, which referenced a recent tourism campaign Irwin was in, was “a humorous critique of that advertisement published primarily for a political purpose”.</p> <p>“Your clients’ claims of passing off and defamation are so plainly inconsistent as to be nonsensical," they wrote in a letter addressed to Irwin's lawyers. </p> <p>“It is difficult to comprehend how a viewer could understand that the video represents an affiliation with your client if he is also being defamed in the same publication.”</p> <p>Hanson also insisted that she would not take down the video. </p> <p>“I will not be removing the latest episode of Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. </p> <p>“I look forward to the day when Robert and I can have a good laugh over this and turn our focus to making Queensland a better state.”</p> <p><em>Image: Instagram/ X/ Getty</em></p>

Robert Irwin threatens to sue Pauline Hanson over "defamatory" cartoon

<p>Robert Irwin has threatened to sue One Nation leader Pauline Hanson for defamation. </p> <p>In the latest episode of Pauline Hanson's cartoon series <em>Please Explain</em>, Irwin claimed that he was mocked after it depicted him and Bluey promoting a new tourism campaign for Queensland.</p> <p>The episode satirically depicted Irwin attempting to show Bluey the best of Queensland, but mocked the state's housing crisis, youth crime, and health care. </p> <p>At one point in the cartoon, the pair mistake a long queue for a rental property for a line at Movie World. </p> <p>FC Lawyers, who are acting on behalf of the wildlife conservationist, have sent a cease and desist letter to StepMates Studios, the production team behind Pauline Hanson’s <em> </em>cartoon series.</p> <p>In the letter obtained by <em>NewsWire</em>,  Irwin's lawyer claimed that the cartoon is defamatory and  involves the “unauthorised and deceptive use of our client’s image”.</p> <p>“You are potentially liable to our client in respect of defamation, deceptive use of a person’s image, passing off and misleading and deceptive conduct,” the letter sates. </p> <p>“We will commence legal action against you if you do not take down the video immediately.”</p> <p>The letter also claims that the cartoon tarnished Irwin's reputation and misled the public, causing “significant harm to our client’s brand and image”.</p> <p>“We are concerned that the unlawful use of our client’s image may be an attempt to pass off yourself or party as currently being affiliated or otherwise authorised by us, which you are not,” it continues.</p> <p>“This unlawful use has the potential to mislead or deceive consumers into believing that you have.</p> <p>“The use of our client’s image and name on the video is capable of leading not an insignificant number of reasonable and/or ordinary people into erroneously believing that the Pauline Hanson is associated with Robert.”</p> <p>Some people have defended Irwin's move, saying: "It is Pauline Hanson who is the politician and she has a record of trying to sue others when offended."</p> <p>"She likes to dish it out but can’t take it which will cost her at the ballot box!"</p> <p>"What about when Pauline Hanson threatened legal action over Pauline Pantsdown," another added. </p> <p>However, a few others have called him a "snowflake" and told him to "grow up". </p> <p>"Your dad would [have] had a good laugh at Pauline's cartoon. "While I was home": Goldie Hawn robbed twice in four months

<p>Hollywood star Goldie Hawn recently opened up about a harrowing experience she and longtime partner Kurt Russell endured: two home invasions within the span of just a few months.</p> <p>Hawn shared the details of these incidents during a candid conversation on Kelly Ripa's podcast, "Let's Talk Off Camera".</p> <p>The first robbery occurred while Hawn and Russell were out for dinner. Despite the increased safety precautions, the traumatic events have left a lasting impression.</p> <p>In light of these experiences, Hawn expressed a desire to relocate to Atlanta, where her family resides. "It's so lovely there, I said, 'Hey, guys, why don't we all move there?'" she shared. The idea of a family compound has always been a dream for Hawn and her loved ones. <p>Robert Irwin has faced some backlash online after appearing in a new TV ad for a classic Aussie snack.  </p> <p>The star appeared alongside G-Flip in an ad for Twisties, where the pair argued over what flavour should be crowned Australia’s official Twistie. </p> <p>In the ad, Robert advocated for Aussies to vote for the chicken flavour, while G-Flip advocated for the cheese flavour. </p> <p>“To my chookstituants. I say chicken is the people’s Twistie. Sure, cheese came first but secondborns were made to perfection, sorry Bindi,” Robert said in the ad. </p> <p>“Chicken has always been the taste of our great southern land.”</p> <p>Robert also posted the TV ad on his Instagram with the caption: “Repping Team Chicken in Twisties great flavour debate was not on my 2024 bingo card! But when Twisties calls, you answer. Doctor Who actor dies at the age of 99

<p>Legendary <em>Doctor Who</em> actor William Russell has died at the age of 99. </p> <p>Russell made his debut on the long-running hit sci-fi show back during its first episode in 1963 as the character Ian Chesterson, where he became the first companion alongside the then doctor William Hartnell. </p> <p><em>Doctor Who</em> show runner Russell T Davies led the tributes online, writing, "What a sad loss."</p> <p>"William played the Doctor's very first companion, Ian Chesterton, back in 1963," Davies explained in the Instagram tribute alongside an image of the two together.</p> <p>"A schoolteacher, trapped on the Tardis by a wily old Doctor, unable to get home, whisked off to the Stone Age, Skaro, the Crusades, planet of the Zarbi..! How Bindi Irwin is passing down Steve's legacy to her daughter

<p>Bindi Irwin has found a unique and heartwarming way to introduce her late dad Steve to her own daughter.</p> <p>Grace, who is now three years old, never got to meet her grandfather Steve Irwin, who tragically passed away in 2006.</p> <p>In order to pass down his legacy and introduce Steve to her own daughter, Bindi has been showing Grace her dad's old documentaries.</p> <p>In an interview with <a title="US Weekly" href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-moms/news/bindi-irwin-shares-the-one-thing-she-wants-to-tell-dad-steve-irwin/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><em>US Weekly</em>,</a> 25-year-old Bindi said her daughter has already picked up Steve's iconic catchphrase. </p> <p>"He was the same person in real life as he was on screen, so I feel like Grace is able to grow up knowing him," Bindi said. </p> <p>"As soon as we turn Dad on, she starts doing her imitation, yelling 'Crikey!' through the living room." </p> <p>Bindi, who continues to run Australia Zoo alongside her mum Terri, brother Robert, and her husband Chandler Powell, said the place is still filled with the essence of Steve with photos of him all through the park. </p> <p>It's bittersweet for Bindi, who's seeing her daughter grow up with a version of Steve who's only on the screen and the memory of him in Australia Zoo, but she's hoping that he's proud of them. </p> <p>"If I had the chance, the one thing I'd say to my dad is, 'I love you, and I miss you. Every day that you aren't here is hard. But we hope to be making you proud,'" she said.</p> <p>"I think when there's love that is that great, it never truly goes away.
