MasterChef fans were shocked after the show’s official Instagram account posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos that showed the contestants hanging out at their accommodation.

The post was captioned: "Blink and you'll miss it, it's already the end of week 2!"

Fans quickly flooded the comment section after a few were left appalled at the poor quality of the accommodation, with one user calling it “dreadful”.

"TBH I think Endomol Shine (or whoever it is) have a nerve giving these contestants such dreadful accommodation! I cant believe what I'm seeing,” wrote one user.

"Doesn’t look a particularly inviting place to rest up and relax! Chipped old table etc," commented another.

"What happened to that fancy house contestants used to live in?" questioned a third user.

“Jeez have they got you living in dongas or something,” wrote a fourth.

"Geez looks like they really lashed out on luxe digs this year,” commented a fifth user with laughing emojis.

"Not impressed with the accommodation for the contestants. Looks like cabins at a caravan park," another added.

However, a couple other fans didn’t have a problem with it and instead commented on how the contestants looked like they were having a good time.

"I love seeing the camaraderie between the contestants," commented one person on the photos that were also shared on Facebook.

"Lovely group of cooks this year," wrote another.

“Loving the BTS photos of the cast interactions. Please post more,” commented a third.

Other photos shared on the show’s official Facebook page show contestants posing for a selfie in what seems to be a serviced apartment, which according to Refinery29 Australia is where contestants stayed in the previous season.

In 2020, news.com.au also revealed that contestants usually live in "a multimillion-dollar mansion", so it’s possible that the photos shared on Instagram were taken backstage and not at their accommodation.

Images: MasterChef AU Instagram

Karl Stefanovic slams Israel Folau's possible return as "appalling"

The NRL has been urged to "take a stand" and ban Israel Folau for good, as rumours about his return continue to swirl.

The Dragons are reportedly attempting to bring Folau back into the game on a two-year deal, with the club submitting an application to the NRL to allow the 31-year-old to play.

Folau caused controversy in 2019 after voicing his discriminatory views on homosexuality, which saw him being stood down from the Wallabies.

Karl Stefanovic said the return was "appalling" and urged the NRL to fight back.

"I think it is an appalling decision by the NRL to allow him back into the code," Stefanovic said.

"I think it's way out of line. Given what he said and the hurt he caused. To just somehow then say, 'you know what, it's OK because he doesn't have a platform for his beliefs'.

"He has never apologised for his beliefs. He still believes in that. He still is a homophobe.

"The NRL needs to take a stand on this stuff and they need to take it now... He is not changing his behaviour. He's not changing his views.

"But let's let him play because he can't go on social media? That's an absolute cop out."

If Folau returns, he may have some strict conditions, with the Dragons reportedly set to include social media clauses in his contract.

Stefanovic's co-host Ally Langdon said this is not enough.

"Just looking at his Instagram page this morning, that very offensive quote is still there," she said.

"And perhaps he won't now post other offensive remarks such as this. But he still preaches at church...he still holds these beliefs.

"It's been filmed and it's still being released. So by bringing him back into the league, I think you are still giving him a platform."

Alan Jones radio show under review due to “appalling” Jacinda Ardern comments

Radio veteran Alan Jones has been put on notice after Macquarie Media announced a pending “full review” of his program.

This comes after his controversial comments about NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern that saw more than 100 companies withdrawing their advertising dollars from the radio station.

The scandal initially began when the 78-year-old Jones said that Ardern is a “complete clown”.

“She’s a clown, Jacinda Ardern; a complete clown,’’ Mr Jones said.

“I just wonder whether Scott Morrison is going to be fully briefed to shove a sock down her throat.’’

“She is a joke, this woman; an absolute and utter lightweight,” he said on social media.

Macquarie Media chairman Russell Tate publicly warned Jones that he would be sacked if he made similar comments in future.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Macquarie Media have reportedly sent a letter to advertisers pledging a review of Jones’ Breakfast Show on 2GB and 4BC.

“This incident has brought into sharp focus the need for all Macquarie Media broadcasters to ensure that the debate they bring to the microphone and the words they use are, at all times, respectful and reflect the standards expected today by our listeners, our clients, and the wider community,” the letter allegedly reads.

“Through this incident, we have experienced the ability of offended groups to greatly amplify their complaints and to actively disrupt you, our clients and your staff, who have done no more than seek to engage with the audience which chooses to listen to us,” Mr Tate said in the letter.

“Of course, we have seen valued commercial partners withdraw from Alan’s program, but the fact is we got it wrong in the first place and we must now do everything possible to ensure that doesn’t happen again,” he said.

“To that end, we have already commenced, with Alan’s encouragement and support, a full review of the 2GB/4BC Breakfast Show’s content, presentation and controls with a specific focus on audience and guest/third party engagement. That review will extend into all 2GB/4BC programs.”

As to what the “pending review” will uncover remains to be seen.

Woman appalled as in-laws bill her $280 for a broken glass

A mum-to-be was shocked to find that her father-in-law had emailed her a $280 bill for a wine glass she accidentally broke.

The pregnant woman posted on parenting forum Mumsnet to ask others whether it was necessary for her to pay the hefty bill or not.

“Went to PIL’ (parents-in-law’s) home last weekend, had a glass of wine and I accidentally dropped it,” the mum wrote online.

“No big deal, they shrugged it off. I get on well with both FIL (father-in-law) and MIL (mother-in-law), have been with DH (darling husband) for 4 years now and we are having our first child in 4 months.”

The woman explained that her in-laws are “well off… very well off” and that she lives in a rental and is “definitely not as well off”.

“I didn’t know at the time, but said wine glass apparently happens to be pretty high end,” she said.

According to her father-in-law’s email, the glasses cost $280 each.

“FIL has this morning sent me an e-mail saying that I can just transfer the $280 to him or buy the glass online. He even attached a link and included their address, should I not know it by now(!),” she said.

The woman claimed that she thought the email was initially a joke but then remembered that it was out of character for them to have a sense of humour.

She decided to get recommendations on the parenting forum before explaining the situation to her husband.

Most people thought it was “bad taste” for the father-in-law to ask for money.

“Glasses often get broken, so you shouldn’t expect to get the cost of it reimbursed. And if you do expect reimbursement, you shouldn’t use stupidly expensive wine glasses for your guests,” one person said.

However, one person suggested that she should have offered to replace the glass after she broke it.

The woman said she didn’t think about offering to pay for it because they “shrugged it off as nothing”.

“FIL is a bit of a snob in general but MIL is usually lovely so I wouldn’t be surprised if she had no idea about this e-mail,” she said.

“She calls me every day to ask how I am doing and if we need anything whereas this is the first time FIL has initiated contact with me through phone/e-mail.”

Others suggested for her to let her husband know so he could deal with the situation.

What would you do in this situation? Let us know in the comments below.

Donald Trump's appalling joke about Princess Diana

An absolutely appalling joke Donald Trump made about the late Princess Diana has been unearthed, which was made during a radio show interview of the now-US president.

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show which was recorded in the ‘90s, Trump made scandalous comments just months after the death of the mother of two.

In the shocking, newly emerged audio which has been leaked on the website Factbas.se, Trump sensationally spoke about the possibility of sleeping with Princess Di, before joking with Stern that he would’ve had her tested for HIV first.

Imagining a scene between Trump and Diana, Stern says, “Hey Lady Di, would you go to the doctor?”

“Go back over to my Lexington Avenue doctor,” Trump jokes, as though he’s talking to the late royal, “We wanna give you a little checkup.”

Trump made a number of unsightly comments about Princess Diana during the interview, including a number of disturbing statements about her beauty.

Trump said, “She had times, you know, it was interesting, she had times when she didn't look great, and sometimes you look better than anybody in the world. But she was supermodel.”

This audio has emerged after claims from UK presenter Selina Scott that the now-leader of the free world was absolutely besotted with the people’s princess.

“Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife,” she said.

“As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do."

In another Howard Stern interview in 2000, Trump again mentioned Princess Diana saying he would have “slept with her without hesitation.”

“Lady Di was truly a woman with great beauty,” he said, “She was super model beautiful; she had the height, she had the beauty, she had the skin, the whole thing.”

“She was crazy, but you know these are minor details.”

What are your thoughts?
